Brother's Fish House

My husband posted about the most awful fried cod I have ever tasted in my life (and possibly the most unsafe to eat) so I won’t go on about that. But, I do want to add that the hygiene of this place is also a -10/10. Judging by the state of the dining area, I do not want to know what it looks like back in the kitchen. I have never written a negative review in my life, but this place absolutely baffled me. By the way, do not respond with “you should’ve brought this to our attention” because we did. Our waiter went back to talk to the cook/cooks twice and we gave up.

My wife and I had dinner here for the first time. Judging by the reviews, we thought the food would be good. We were very, very wrong. My wife ordered the fried cod. In the picture, you can see what the inside of said fried “cod” looked like. If this is in fact cod meat, something was very wrong with it. The look, texture and taste were awful. Maybe a very old cod fillet that was improperly frozen and microwaved to thaw (cooking in the process) and then battered and fried. I tried to find a logical explanation for the state of the fish that we were served but even that does not explain it. The meat was tougher than really tough chicken meat. The knife would not even cut through it. We brought this to their attention and they said that cod can be as dark as the meat in the picture (which we have never had, and we love seafood). They did not have an explanation for the many other things wrong with it. We ended up paying for the dish (which was 20 dollars for 2 filets smaller than the palm of my hand). Needless to say we will not be coming back. We all feel sick and will undoubtedly have food poisoning. Please, stay away.

This is NOT a fancy place but the food is OUTSTANDING.

Good fresh seafood friendly service. Simple informal atmosphere could use an upgrade But the fresh offerings are worth coming for.

Been here over an hour. Finally got our food. We had to send up a flare every time we needed a beer.

We loved the flavor and freshness of the fish. Helen, the young woman who served us, did an excellent job, It's our first time here and she explained to us in great detail what we asked, She's very helpful, what a nice girl. We recommend this restaurant 100%

10 out of 10, highly recommend!! Family friendly, “date night” could definitely happen here, and the food came out HOT & FRESH! Our server was amazing, super polite and very knowledgeable about her job! She was bragging about the owners and we wish we could’ve met them; they sound like such kind human beings based off of what the server said. We didn’t catch her name but she is awesome! If you are looking for great food, decent prices, and a family friendly restaurant with amazing service, check these guys out first! We are PLEASED!

This restaurant is family owned and the food is delicious. I especially love their fried oysters, scallops (blackened), seafood crab cake, and the service is amazing! You will not be disappointed.

Very Casual atmosphere, good hot food and the staff was great! Definitely worth checking out! 👍

Had to try the fried whole Snapper, Excellent! Fresh and crispy, light breading , got a side of whole belly clams and okra, will order again..

The staff were very polite. While I was waiting for my order, I over heard someone that called in an order & had no clue what they wanted. But the young lady taking the order kindly suggested a few meals that fit the person’s appetite & budget. She handled it very well.

I went in to order carry out. They had a special menu with fresh fish caught that day. I ordered the salmon and it didn't disappoint it really good. It was my first time going to Brothers, and if I want fish sometime in the future, I know where to go.
