Boondocks Restaurant

I have an inquiry/complaint about the representation and quality of the food we were served this afternoon in the Port Orange location… 1) The Nassau chowder was described as having crab as an ingredient and it was imitation crab was very good though!

We live in Ponce and have passed by this restaurant for 20 years. Today we decided to give it a try as they have just recently reopened from the hurricane. We wanted to like it. This is by NO means what fresh fish is in Florida. The fish is not line caught. It is farmed and cut into the same pattern as boxed/frozen fish you find in several restaurants in our area. The clam chowder was average. The fried fish was frozen and cut into triangles!! The fries were your typical frozen fried with no seasoning and the slaw was for someone who craves mayonnaise. This is simply a typical tourist trap and not what locals visit. If you want fresh/lined caught - go to Millie’s or Hulls.

Fantastic location on the waterfront for a beer or to dine. Service was fast and pleasant and very relaxed. Food was excellent and the best meal we had in the area. The prawns were divine.

My wife and I went here on our 11th anniversary. We were sitting on the beach and wanted to get some seafood and looked this restaurant up. It is such a good vibe. The waitresses and hosts are amazing. We got to deal with Dusty and Lana. They were phenomenal. The scenery was amazing. The food was even better. This was our favorite part of the trip of being down in Florida for a whole week.

The restaurant had just been rebuilt in February of 2025. It has a great atmosphere and the staff was very informative and pleasant. The food was great and the scenery was very serene.

Good food, good service, and good atmosphere. We were there an hour before closing but still double-checked to make sure the kitchen was open. They served us quickly and promptly. The food was of the quality expected. Good views out on the water, especially in the evening.
Open air waterfront dining definitely adds to the dining experience.
