My husband and I decided to try out this restaurant and we were very impressed with it. We ordered the Ridge pizza to share. When it came out it looked great, but the underside was burnt. We let them know and they were very quick to correcting the issue and when we got the second one it was perfect. Mistakes happen and we weren’t upset about it. All of the waitresses were running around helping everyone which was really nice to see also. We loved the food and would absolutely come back to try more :)

Wow! If I could give this place 6 stars, I would. It was our first time there and we will be back!!. It was clean, welcoming and beautiful inside. Service was fast and friendly. The cocktails were great! Came out super fast! We ordered plain, garlic parm and buffalo wings, fries, and a cheddar burger. The food was FRESH. Served quickly and HOT. The wings were the BEST wings we’ve ever had. They were beyond flavorful with a sweet smoky taste, sized well and plated beautifully. The burger was big and cooked perfect. We are so glad we found this place!

Two items I’d recommend: savory buffalo chicken sandwich and the collard greens! The sandwich is absolute perfection. The texture, flavor, ingredients, and portion size is excellent. And the collard greens… I know, weird thing to call out, but these are the best I’ve ever had. Simply put, they are perfectly cooked and seasoned. No, not sloppy, drowned out greens that lack structure or discernible flavor. These are sharp, tight, and flavorful. If I could cook them this well, I’d shut up about them and quit this review. In the past I’ve also had their whipped ricotta and their pizza is great! Also, the French fries are very good.
My only caution or constructive feedback is the takeout… I’ve ordered take out twice in two years and it’s somehow exceptionally disappointing. Not because the quality/quantity/flavor is lower (it’s not that at all), it’s just not great as takeout. Something happens in that foam clamshell that I can’t figure out. I’ve talked with a couple folks and the experience is consistent with mine - it’s sad when you’re looking forward to the in-house experience and the takeout simply can’t get you there. Oh - and take it or leave it, the beer selection is lacking (I have local recommendations if the proprietors are interested).
Bottom line: I tell people about Urban Oak all the time and recommend you EAT IN (if you’ve had take out in the past, give them a real try and sit down, unwind, and let them showcase their talent, you won’t be disappointed)! :) Aside from the takeout experiences:

We ordered the jalapeño chimichurri wings and the Oak Burger. The wings had great flavor, but they were noticeably undercooked — the skin was soft and rubbery instead of crispy.
The burger was ordered medium-well, which was actually what the menu recommended, but it came out medium-rare. On top of that, the timing and food handling were disappointing. The wings sat under the heat lamp for quite a while before anyone brought them out, and the burger was delayed because it had accidentally been placed in a to-go box.
Unfortunately, the collard greens were also extremely salty to the point that they were inedible.
There’s clearly potential here because some of the flavors were good, but the execution and kitchen coordination really missed the mark during our visit.

This restaurant is my hidden gem. With how good their food is and have great the service is, more should be opened across the country. The owner Paul, his family and staff makes you feel welcomed then they feed you some great food. Give them a try. Sunday brunch menu is a must try.
