This place is sooo good! Esp if you get the noodles instead of rice. A little pricey still but cheaper than the other ones. The hibachi chefs are hilarious and really know what they're doing! The food was superb and the portion sizes were beyond satisfying. Gave a 4 star because the staff, however- the host and whoever makes the reservations over the phone, was rude and dismissive. We waited over an hour after our reservation time to even be seated at a table, and it was so late then that we were all starving. We will be back, the chef and the flavor of the food won us over but definitely plan on making a reservation and arriving an hour or 2 earlier than when you'd actually like to eat. Kind of put a damper on our 13 yr olds birthday having to wait until 9 pm to eat and our reserved time was 7 but it all worked out in the end I guess..

Service was awful. Server did almost nothing for my table of 8 in an empty restaurant. We waited for 20 minutes just for drinks. The food is good, but becoming overpriced. We'll be looking for a new hibachi place.

Tonight I had a great dinner here and the customer service was great!! I did want to say that I have worked in the food industry for years myself and I did want to point out that I did notice a rather upset customer beside me, who seemed to be outraged beyond belief. I felt really bad for the manager and the staff as they were being kind and asking the lady what they could do to make it right. Amazing hardworking people like the ones at TONBO do not deserve to deal with a customer so rash. There was no settling her down. You’re doing great Tonbo team! Don’t let that one customer bring you down!!

Sad to say that when the owner is not there service is horrible. The check out guy and Maui are always amazing but the female manager is on a power trip and was and is so rude she kept Complaining about the kidsmeals I was purchasing for my kids and grandbabies and refusing to let us choose how we wanted our meat. Never have I had that issue. I have been a customer for years but this is too much and didnt put utensils sauce or anything we asked for. Again sad that its when owner is not there.

Walked in with a reservation for 7pm, sat down and waited 40 minutes so other people could fill the table. Then they moved us to the middle of the table, near a different grill where we wouldn’t be able to even see our own food getting made, because other people near us had requested a certain cook. We told them we didn’t request that cook and asked if he would be cooking in front of us or on the other grill, he said the other one. Then he said sorry and walked away. The whole point of going was to get the experience of seeing our food being made in front of us, not watching other peoples food be cooked, while ours is cooked off to the side. So we ended up leaving and going to Kawa hibachi down the street. 5 stars for that place, way way better. Would not recommend going to this place.

Lunch teppanyaki is a good deal. If you're at a normal table as opposed to at the hibachi grill the food is inconsistent in terms of flavor. It never is bad, but meal to meal can be noticeably different. Sushi is fresh and good. Hibachi grill seats stay pretty full and can involve a long wait if you don't have a reservation.

Been here many times and enjoyed it. Today food was bland, shrimp was overcooked in my sushi roll and it all tasted the same. Possibly oil it was cooked in. Won't be back.

My wife and I had 7pm reservations last night (02/13/2024) for the hibachi experience. We arrived just prior to our reservation time, and were told that there is only one chef working and that it would be a bit of a wait. It was recommended that we sit at the bar while we wait, and so we did. While we were greeted almost immediately once we sat at the bar, I ordered a diet soda and my wife ordered a water (later on she ordered a cabernet). It took a considerable amount of time for us to receive our drinks. There were also ZERO napkins at the bar. After a half hour wait, we were then escorted to the hibachi table. Every hibachi that I have ever gone to including Tonbo, we were given soup, salad, rice, noodles, vegetables, and proteins of our choosing. Never before was I asked to choose between soup or salad, I choose salad, and I asked if I wanted Ranch or Italian dressing (in a Japanese style restaurant?), once I received my salad, I noticed the lettuce was mostly brown (no expediter?), asked to choose between rice and noodles (which never happened before), and while the chef was really good and entertaining my noodles tasted off, maybe a bit old and a bit crunchy. We were never offered spicy mayo, just yum yum sauce. I also felt we were rushed out after our dinner. Definitely not worth the $75 I paid for dinner. The inside felt run down and dingy. We will not be back, as of now, I'd rather drive to Spring Hill or Tampa to get hibachi.

The phone wasn’t working four hours so I decided to go up there sitting in the front waiting for someone to take my Order ..45 minute has passed still no one came to take my order so I just walked out this place need better customer service in it smells funny ....
