We popped in real fast to grab lunch since we were staying in the area for a birthday trip. We rolled in about a half hour before they closed to get 4 take out plates. Everyone was pleasant and friendly and they entertained my toddler and her barrage of questions. They answered any food related questions we had and we got our food in record time.
Upon trying it all out, not a single person had an issue. Everyone loved their selection and the reviews certainly held up. Everything was rich and delicious m. The rice was perfect, my wife loved the butter beans, and everyone was uncharacteristically quiet while eating due to being happy for the food.
Literally the only thing to be aware of is that the parking is only a few spots out front. Most locals likely already know this. You can park right across the street or on the block behind. Everything is a pleasant walk around here.
We will definitely be back. If weather holds up tomorrow, may even catch breakfast on the way out.

We are new to the area and are so happy to have found this gem! We've been to this restaurant 4 or 5 times now and have enjoyed everything we've tried for breakfast and lunch! The staff is so sweet and welcoming and always happy to answer questions if we have any. We weren't used to the cafeteria style so the first visit, we were full of questions that were all happily answered. The food is full of flavor and comfort staples, sometimes with a new/different twist! The atmosphere is a wonderful blast from the past and makes me feel right at home, as if I'm at a great aunts house from back home! Thank you so much for the delicious food, welcoming atmosphere, and friendly service! We will be back again and again!!

We had a salmon omelette, I wasn’t sure about it. It was very good. We also got a bowl of shrimp and grits. Has tomato base and was delicious. Cute atmosphere with a cafeteria style set up. Definitely recommend.

Went for a quick lunch between appointments. The Cafetria style ensured we could budget our time appropriately. Multiple meat, vegetable and starch options. Drink included with the meat and sides option or vegetable plate option. Great choices for beverages. Dessert was extra, but the meal portions were so large that no one in my group opted for a dessert. All of us truly enjoyed our meals. Very tasty southern cooking with wonderful flavors. Really worked out for our group as we didn't have to wait for the food to be cooked, etc. Staff were very helpful and attentive. None of us had been there before and we asked how things worked. Staff was so kind, made us felt comfortable and checked on us throughout our meal to see if we needed anything further,etc. I don't usually care for a cafeteria type place, but this was stellar. I will definitely be back with my family!! Thanks so much to the staff for making us feel welcomed!
