Absolutely terrible experience. Our first visit and we will definitely NOT be back. Terrible management & staff (our specific waiter). Unbeknownst to us, there was a 4th of July “event”. Our bill for a buffet was $331. (2 adults & 1 3 yr old). Our waiter sat us, and never came back other than to bring our check. I had to physically go to the bar for a new drink and a refill. His tip was 20% ($52). I absolutely cause a scene because not tonight. He sucked. I don’t mind tipping but not $52 when you’re TERRIBLE. The manager on duty told me “he’s one of our best”… Well NOT tonight. We will not be back needless to say.

Extremely unprofessional. We had a 6:30 reservation and arrived early at 6:00 after driving 30 minutes, only to be told our reservation was canceled because the patio was closed. No call, no text, no email—no communication at all. We were offered nothing to make it right. No apology. No effort to accommodate us. The manager was rude, dismissive, and clearly not interested in helping. We also overheard others in the same situation, so this isn’t a one-off issue. If you’re booking patio seating here, don’t count on it being honored—and don’t expect any basic courtesy if it’s not.

One of the best restaurants we have been to in a long time! The service was phenomenal and the food was even better! We will definitely be back!

The staff were super friendly and food was delicious. We were continually checked on and given recommendations for food and drinks. We celebrated our one year wedding anniversary. I think Brittany was our waitress. Don’t quite remember her name. Definitely will be back!

I normally always look forward to visiting the White Marlin while in town. Unfortunately my recent experience was not a great experience. We had a party of 5. Made reservations & arrived early. We were on a girls trip. We were excited to show some friends visiting for the first time, the restaurant. Our waiter was so sweet & attentive. The manager on the other hand was the most unprofessional human, I have ever encounter in the restaurant business. When we brought an issue to her attention she was aggressive & combative. She bent down to get face to face with a friend of mine. I was absolutely appalled. We sat for an hour and a half without food. When the food did arrived, it was cold. Our bill was over $500. I would just expect a better experience for that.

My wife had coconut crusted grouper, I had parmesan crusted grouper. They were priced similarly, but one was filled the plate with grouper, asparagus, rice with crab, and lettuce. The other was grouper on a spoonful of rice. There was no comparison. We were there with another couple who had the same, and their plates were the same as ours.
We enjoyed our bread (a small slice each) and asked for more bread... which costs $2 per slice!
The more generous serving of parmesan grouper was a good meal, only somewhat overpriced. The coconut grouper was a huge disappointment in taste, and was as greatly overpriced as the bread.
Summary: overall the food was OK but you can get better for much less.

I don't know if you can give an establishment zero stars, but I am going to try. Unfortunately, we never got a seat or a meal. I was told upon entry that my service dog was not allowed inside. When I explained he was a SERVICE DOG, the young lady got her manager who then told me she would provide a table on the porch for me. It was a very cold and windy evening. We didn't want to cause a scene, so we left. Not sure how far my complaining might go. DOJ investigates complaints that violate individual's rights regarding disabilities and service dogs. This is not the kind of business I like to support.... However, The Gibson Inn in Apalachicola could not have been more welcoming.

Food is great but this review is because New Year’s Eve was horrible there this past year 24-25. Could not hear a word from anyone at the table without yelling at each other all because they thought bringing in a DJ to blast music would be a good idea. Yeah, the DJ is outside, but when you set him right up next to the door leading outside while keeping the doors open the music travels back inside. Went there the previous year 23-24 and had a completely different experience and was outstanding. Absolute let down.

Wonderful place for a high-end dining experience in Port St Joe. Staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. Food was excellent and plentiful! Beautiful sunset location with great drinks and live music. Would definitely eat here again on future visits to the area!

I’m a bit of a foodie and I love to cook so I consider myself a tough customer. The meal was excellent, best crab cake I have ever had and that’s no exaggeration. It had more crab meat than bread crumbs. The lobster bisque was great, the made in house blue cheese dressing was the best I have eaten and would love the recipe. My main entree of parmigiana encrusted sea bass was
impressive. Every time I visit this area I will have reservations at this restaurant. They covered everything well from the service, atmosphere and food, if you haven’t been you need to go.
