Big Shirley's BBQ & Soulfood

Saw this truck on US1 so we decided to give it a try. To our disappointment, the food was mediocre at best. The ribs were hard, dry & over cooked. The collard greens were mushy and the baked beans were watery. The mac n cheese was the best on yhe entire plate. For the price we paid for each plate, I expected better. The guy was very friendly but the food seemed as if it was yesterday's leftovers.

We stumbled upon this hidden gem of a food truck through Google, searching for a well-earned meal after a long, exhausting day at our son’s wrestling tournament. Visiting Port St. Lucie for the first time, we had no idea what to expect—but we certainly didn’t expect to find some of the best soul food we’ve ever had, served right from a food truck.

Big Shirley’s did not disappoint. The staff welcomed us with warm hospitality, and the chef exuded confidence as he passionately recommended the smothered ribs and brisket. And let me tell you—WOW. Every bite was packed with rich, savory flavor, perfectly balanced and not overly salty. The collard greens? Some of the best I’ve ever tasted. And the mac and cheese? Let’s just say it was pure heaven—creamy, cheesy, and everything you could ever want in comfort food.

This wasn’t just a meal; it was an experience. Big Shirley’s is a must-visit, and we will be back for more on our next trip!

Hubby and I ordered the brisket dinner which comes with two sides. I chose mac & cheese and collard greens. The brisket was tender and full of flavor while the mac & cheese was creamy and delicious. We didn’t need any barbecue sauce at all! Thank you, Big Shirley BBQ for an amazing dinner. We will be back soon!

Big Shirley’s bbq came out to a fundraising event for our athletes at Upontop Volleyball academy and made the best brisket sandwich iv ever had. Definitely going to be on the lookout for their food in the near future! Highly recommend!

The best bbq I have had in a long time. Not a collard greens person but they were even delish. Had brisket and ribs with mac n cheese, yellow rice, collard greens and cornbread. It was all awesome.

The hospitality service was amazing. Very welcoming the Mac-cheese and baked beans was very Flavorable. The ribs were baby backs very tasteful but i do prefer the saint luice style ribs I'll try those next time if they cook them much love keep up the good cooking

Last night we ordered 2 fried chicken dinners. Each meal came with 4 pieces of chicken, yellow rice, collard greens, mac n cheese and corn bread. Everything was seasoned perfectly. The mac n cheese was so creamy and flavorful. It's been a long time since I've ordered food out and not be disappointed in some aspect of my experience. It was awesome to have a meal that was obviously prepared by someone who truely knows how to cook with love. We'll be back for sure!

Amazing barbecue, my nee favorite on the Treasure Coast. I had everything on menu so far and it is all good. Oh and the Collards. Dwight is awesome guy too.
