Spent $30 at the bar for two drinks with tip. We ordered bucatini amatriciana with sausage added and spaghetti con polpette. The meals included salads and hot rolls which were enjoyable. Neither of us enjoyed the pasta entrees. The bucatini was heavily sauced and spicy rendering it not enjoyable. The spaghetti sauce was very bitter and the meatballs were not flavorful. We each ate about half our meals and opted for no dessert. Our bill was $79 (including one more cocktail) plus a tip. This was our first time at Carmelo’s and can say we won’t be returning. The food at River City Grille and/or Italia is much better. The outdoor seating was plentiful and would have been more enjoyable had it not begun to rain just before our meals were served. Very disappointing overall and even more so since it was a birthday celebration.

Always a pleasure, Bryce was our server tonight and absolutely dominated our 8 top reservation. The food was amazing as usual, we had two new guests with us and they will surely be back as well! Thank you for another amazing experience and great food!
Excellent food, service was the best, garden area was wonderful for our dinner.highly recommend!
Amazing service, value, and food.
My family was in town for Thanksgiving & wanted to take me out for my birthday. We decided on Carmelo’s. The ambiance was lovely & opted to sit in the courtyard. Huge mistake. First off… our server was gracious & attentive. We had the caprese, bruschetta, J Pinot to start. The starters were very good but our whole dinner was terrible due to the most terrible, loud, off key entertainment we’ve ever seen & heard at an establishment. Inside they were playing beautiful Sinatra & outside it was almost like a karaoke singer & we thought it was a joke. It ruined my birthday dinner. The manager should have made him stop. We thought it was perhaps a joke at first. Our pasta dishes were good but atmosphere, music etc are a huge part of the dining experience & this was a terrible one.
Fabulous experience! Very cute place with authentic Italian decor. It took the hostess stand a few minutes to sear us for our 5 pm reservation but once seated, our waitress Michelle was excellent! We loooved the cheese wheel appetizer I can’t remember the name but it was the most delicious thing I’ve ever eaten. Bada bing I think. The outdoor space was delightfully comfortable and all of the food and drinks were delicious! Very enjoyable. We will be ba j
One of the best Italian Restaurants I have ever been too. Strated out with the special Badabing appetizer. It was amazing also the show was perfect and very informative about the owners. I had the Bucatini Amatriciana. It was absolutely delicious. My wife had the Chicken Piccata. She also agreed it was very good. The desert tray when brought to our table was breath taking. Your choice of at least 16 different special deserts. We had the Cheesecake special which was very special. Our waiter was excellent. Beau S. was the perfect waiter. Very informative and also very attentive. Coming out of Chicago and it's restaurants, I will put Carmelo's right with them or even in some cases above them. Cudos out to this establishment. You have a patron for life.
Our favorite Italian restaurant ever. Great ambience and service. Make a reservation weeks ahead of time!
If you want authentic Italian, this is the place to go. I would recommend reservations. We are here during “off season” and still needed reservations or else we would have waited. I have picky eaters and my son LOVED the spaghetti and meatballs - it’s good but they don’t fancy it up too much so the kids won’t eat it. If you’re a parent, you know what I mean when I say that. In fact, he told me to write this and give it “5 stars” 😉. Every single server, hostess and bus staff we met was nice, spoke to us, and helped make our experience that much better. We felt like our meal had been cooked just for us. And can we talk about how much food you get?! Wow .. we were so full! I recommend starting with an Aperol Spritz and I could go on about what to order but honestly I think anything is probably good. Enjoy and don’t be afraid to take your kids! PS - if you’re lucky enough to catch a beautiful PG sunset while you’re there, chefs kiss!

Great evening that we went twice on vacation. Dinners were delicious and plentiful. Wine selection was amazing. Even the bus “servers” were pleasant and would converse with you. Thank you Joey and Joere. Can’t wait to return to the area and dine there again.
As visitors we only get to eat here occasionally. And it's always been a great outing. This grand former house has been reconfigured into a warm and inviting place to dine. My wife had Chicken Piccata, a long-term favorite of hers; and she was really pleased with the taste and the ample portion. My choice was Shrimp Fra Diavolo, a favorite of mine. Their sauce was probably the richest and tastiest ever, a real treat. Our server was from Italy and knew the menu well, stayed present with us throughout but not hovering. Prices are moderately high but the food was worth every bit of it.
We came to PH for a mini getaway, decided to go here based on the good reviews. Best decision! We sat outside, and our server Ben was simply amazing. Hubby had Chicken piccata, and I had the most delicious chicken Milanese. We highly recommend!
We take our friends and family here often. Great food but recently went and had a very mediocre experience. Server was the issue, food was great as usual but Vincent has to go. Very slow, non attentive, tables around us seated after us were greeted and served before we even got drinks. Took 2.5 hours total, not what the normal experience is. We still love this restaurant but if it is like this again we wouldn't be back, normally spending about 150 per person plus tip, groups range from2 to 6. Was really irritated with this guy, pretty much screwed up a what was supposed to be a special evening for us.
We found this restaurant a couple of years ago, while renting till our house was completed in Venice. Although it's a drive SO worth it. Not many restaurants in Venice make arancini and NON like theirs. I could make a meal of those alone. Both soups we chose were excellent and the best is their service! Our Server Ben was so attentive and anticipated our every need! Thank you Ben for making my birthday special!!!!
