Wow, well well, deans South of the border I thought that place was gonna be really gone. But no new owners, we're like, we're not gonna let this place. Go to nothing. Let's take it over and now they're gonna open it back up. For everyone to come and join.im so happy 😊

Glad they aren’t closing, they have a wonderful atmosphere; great music. Food is amazing, always super hot. We like our food to be hot when it reaches the table.

Lot of Good Times & Great memories from Working with the Staff in the Kitchen to Hanging out with Friends Afterwards. Absolutely going to miss Dean's South of The Border.😎🍻🤘Thank you Dean and yur Family🧡

I want allowed to purchase a beer as they needed to save it for the July 4th weekend. Would a beer or two killed you? I've never had that happen.But then I heard they are closing their doors for good

Fantastic place...Great Bartenders! Great Bands! Great crowds! Great work staff! Great indoor/outdoor atmosphere!! I'm going to miss this place....but especially the SWEET BARTENDERS!!!

We have been patronizing Dean's since 2017, about every once every 2 months and the main reason we don't go more often is the MUSIC IS (ALWAYS) SO LOUD, especially Friday and Saturday nites.
We have talked to others in the community and some waitresses about how loud the music is. In dismay as of today 7-5-25 2pm, they(i.e.owners) (JUST DON'T CARE) that their patrons that visit can come and eat outside with conversation, without yelling at each other at their table.
Its not like the bands are playing at a concert hall or Venue, it's only like 2000sq.ft outside.
Today 4 couples complained that the music was TOO LOUD. We were sitting right next to each other at our table and were yelling at each other just to have a conversation.
My suggestion for anyone visiting Dean's downtown Punta Gorda should think twice on weather they want to have lunch or dinner and enjoy their conversation with each other, to think about the VERY LOUD MUSIC THERE ALL THE TIME, (ALL DAY).
My last note is the (they don't care, because it's been mentioned to them several times over the years, their bands don't either. We probably would have stayed longer (which I'm sure is good for their business and more,) if the music would have been more subdued for a more relaxing experience.

By far the WORST food I have ever eaten. I had the enchiladas with shredded beef and it was inedible. My wife had the shredded beef tacos and same story. The meat was tough and dry. Don't waste your money here. We also had the 7 layer nachos as an appetizer. We should have seen what was coming. They were awful too. BEWARE!
