The coffee is excellent as is the service! I say this as nicely as possible but they’re slow service wise but worth the wait!

Loved our cappuccinos! Nice to come to a place that makes the right size cappuccinos!

The aromatic smell of coffee hit my face as I entered this shop. Several customers were quietly savoring their drinks as I entered and I could feel the serenity of the place as they smiled and returned to reading their books. I quickly put in my order for a bagel sandwich with cream cheese and salmon, and a Latte flavored with coconut and lavender. Delicious on both counts! The menu offers a vast array of cakes and pastries but coffee is King in this place! The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the offerings. So. ,, if you're looking for a place that serves great food and solace, come to Mudslide. You'll thank me.
P.S. The owner, Anna, also sells her special teas.

I love the atmosphere and location of this cafe. It’s very nice. Unfortunately, the lattes were not good. I ordered a small hot vanilla latte and asked for the milk to be steamed to 130-135. She let me know they don’t have a way to know the temp, which is surprising to me, should have been my sign. So I simply asked to make it cooler than normal. They got the temp right, so good on them. Unfortunately the milk was textured extremely poorly and the espresso shot was very sour.

Wife got the strawberry matcha and she said it was the worst shes had thus far. It was very bland with no flavor. We ended up spilling and tossing both of our drinks.

I did order a 3rd drink, it was a Reese’s cup iced latte, that was okay. Like a 6/10, I did end up finishing it.

We also got the lemon loaf, it was also about a 6/10. Alittle dry, not really dense and full of flavor as they should be.

We grabbed a sourdough loaf as well, have yet to try it, hoping it’s better than the rest.

Unfortunately I cannot recommend this place for its espresso based drinks or matchas.

Love this place. Cozy atmosphere, great coffee and kind baristas. Wish they had a few more gluten-free options but that is not on them. They have tried in the past and they must not have sold well. I liked the Bob's bars and the old macarons but they haven't had them in awhile. Present-day macarons are just ok; almond are quite good. I still go for the coffee and the people. If you DON'T have a restrictive diet you will love their choices. They have a lot of pastries and ice cream and also sandwiches. Best place in Port Charlotte!

The manager handled a potentially difficult situation very responsibly. I had to trade a dry croissant for something fresh. Her response was friendly and composed. She was able to clearly articulate the challenges of providing fresh product and listened intently as I explained that I understand deeply the situation of drastic price increases and do everything that I can to support small local businesses.
However, I don’t want to spend resources for a disappointing product.
We need to start having more of these respectful conversations in our communities so that we can prevent the conglomerate takeovers currently taking place.
We need to stop falling for propaganda and the divide and conquer tactics.
Let’s start solving problems with input from many different mindsets working together.
It does seem that the team at this establishment is trying to do just that & I encourage this.

Mudslide Coffee is one of those cozy, inviting local gems you’re genuinely grateful to stumble upon — the kind of place that feels warm the moment you walk through the door. The inside is absolutely adorable, with string lights in a warm amber tone that instantly set the mood. The tables are intentionally spaced and arranged so you can come here to dine alone, get work done, or meet up with friends without feeling crowded. It’s welcoming, calm, and thoughtfully designed.

One of the biggest highlights is the quality of their ingredients. Mudslide Coffee uses syrups with no artificial dyes or ingredients, which is rare to find and makes such a noticeable difference in taste. They use high-quality chocolate, and every drink we tried tasted rich, clean, and perfectly balanced. Their menu includes hot chocolate, coffee, espresso drinks, specialty creations, cold beverages, and a selection of baked goods. They even have organic sourdough bread, dog treats, and chilled grab-and-go drink options in the cooler for something quick.

The staff deserves a special shoutout. They were extremely sweet, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. They made excellent recommendations and even gave our dogs two pup cups, which absolutely made their morning. It’s obvious they care about their customers — both human and furry — and that level of kindness makes the whole experience memorable.

What makes Mudslide Coffee even more special is that it’s tucked away in an unassuming little plaza you might drive past if you didn’t know it was there. But trust me: you absolutely shouldn’t miss it. This place is worth seeking out. Everything from the drinks to the baked goods to the atmosphere feels intentional, high quality, and made with love.

If you’re anywhere near the area, do yourself a favor and stop in. Whether you’re grabbing a coffee before exploring, searching for a cozy spot to relax, or looking for a friendly café with genuinely great service, Mudslide Coffee is a must-visit. Warm, inviting, delicious — a five-star experience all around.

Mudslide Coffee is hands-down one of the best local spots in Sandhill. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming — they make you feel right at home the moment you walk in. The croissants and muffins are amazing — fresh, flaky, and full of flavor — and everything on the menu is consistently delicious. The location is perfect too, cozy and convenient whether you’re grabbing coffee on the go or relaxing with friends. A true hidden gem — highly recommend!
