We have dined at CB one or two times a week for over a decade and on a regular basis for over twenty years. Unfortunately the prices have gone up every few months while the menu choices have become less like country comfort food and more like common restaurant food. The wait staff is generally friendly but they can never get the order right the first time. We always have to ask again for things like jelly, honey or extra lemon. They NEVER remember. This Cracker Barrel has never had a good management team. We only went this time because we were bought a gift card. It absolutely was not the waitresses fault. This particular day they had just started serving the 4-6 pm early dine specials. Because she was a good waitress she went back to the kitchen to see if they had any of these items we wanted to order. I was shocked how bad the food was at the Port Charlotte location. It wasn’t busy but the fried turkey was cooked way ahead of time. It was soggy instead of fresh and crispy. Even the cornbread muffins were terrible. They tasted like the muffin pans were greased with old grease, the flavor was not good.
