I used to think all Chinese restaurants were the same, but China 1 really stands out. After an unsatisfactory experience with old food at New Far East on 527 S 78th St, I truly appreciate the consistently fresh meals at China 1. If you're looking for reliably fresh Chinese cuisine, China 1 won't disappoint! MY FAVORITE ? FRESH FRIED CHICKEN with HOUSE FRIED RICE (shrimp, pork, chicken inside)
Ordered a combo General Tsao chicken and a combo pepper steak. Food was okay, typical Chinese take out. While eating his chicken combo, my husband felt something hard. He took it out of his mouth to examine. He tried to see if he could bite it, as an uncooked grain of rice or even grizzled from meat, but he could not. My husband has very strong teeth. We conclude it is a small piece of plastic. So just beware when you eat from here.
