Disappointing Experience at Dairy Queen – Poor Customer Service and Communication

I recently placed a mobile order at this Dairy Queen location, only to find that the location had closed early. When I attempted to resolve the issue, I was directed to a corporate number, as the employees on-site were unable to process a refund for mobile orders. The following day, I received a call from a Dairy Queen representative (corporate said it would be a store owner, it was actually the GM) who was courteous and assured me that I could come in for a refund and that the night manager would be informed. Due to my work schedule, I was unable to make it in but visited the next day instead, as instructed.

Unfortunately, when I visited the location to receive my refund, the experience was extremely inappropriate and unpleasant. Upon arrival, I was treated with overt rudeness by the manager, Raheem. He seemed irritated from the start, interrupting me frequently and expressing skepticism about my situation, despite my efforts to calmly explain what I had been told by corporate and the DQ General Manager. When I politely requested that he allow me to finish explaining, he raised his voice further, displaying an unprofessional and condescending attitude. During our interaction, he called the prior night’s shift manager to confirm my story and my name, which the night manager confirmed as accurate. Rather than apologize or acknowledge the misunderstanding, he simply laughed dismissively, only then proceeding with the refund.

To make matters worse, he began to make disparaging condescending comments about "kids these days," which I found both disrespectful and unnecessary, particularly since I am an adult who was simply following up on an unresolved issue. This remark was especially disappointing given that I had approached the situation respectfully and was seeking a straightforward resolution. His attitude was dismissive throughout, despite my continued calm and polite demeanor.

After some back-and-forth, I finally received my refund. However, when I asked for his name for reference, he continued with the intermittent dismissive laughs and refused to provide it, however it was on the refund receipt - Raheem. His unprofessionalism, along with his dismissive treatment of a paying customer, left a lasting negative impression. As a local of 15 years, I will no longer attend this DQ location, nor friends and family of mine after learning of this predicament.

I have since contacted corporate, and they documented the details of this incident. I was asked to give permission for the franchise owner to reach out to me and was assured that this matter would be addressed to improve customer service and communication going forward.

Absolutely rude staff overall, I’ve been to this establishment multiple times and was met with a very rude girl at the front who slammed my drink and started to bicker with me back and forth when I asked her why she was being hostile from the beginning of our interaction. The manager enables them and treats you horribly if you don’t buy from his business he sells on the side, he’ll give you his card and if you don’t buy something you’ll be ostracized and talked about in the place. Horrible place to order inside, drive thru is worse since they response sarcastically if you don’t know how to order off the menu. Horrible place.

Drove 20 minutes for cold fries, one small cup of gravy for 2 4 piece nuggets & one cup of bbq sauce when we asked for ranch as well. Will not be back!

Recently my friend and I decided to meet at the Dairy Queen in Riverview FL to catch up and grab an ice cream. We had no idea we were going to get the red carpet welcome and exceptional service like you would expect with a 5 Star restaurant. There is a gentlemen there named "Raheem" that is Dairy Queen's secret recipe. He is welcoming, friendly and gave us such good customer care. Thank you for hiring such an amazing person and definitely deserves a raise and if he is not a manager, he should be. Carol H.

Used to love going here, but can’t say I can return. I went to get ice cream with my boyfriend who has a severe peanut allergy. I made sure to tell the worker who took my order, nonetheless they didn’t care. We found reese’s at the bottom of his blizzard, causing an allergic reaction. I called a manager to inform them, so this does not happen to another family, and was told he would give me a call back and did not! I tried calling back today and left a message and yet they still won’t return my calls. My boyfriend is fine but this should have never happened. Won’t be returning until management is more responsive to customer feedback.

Kelniarys greeted us with a smile as soon as we entered along with the manager MaKenzie. We have been in a lot of Dairy Queen's across the southeast and this is by far one of the best. Food is always good but, the service is absolutely incredible. Thank you for the great employees, incredible service, and good food. Definitely coming back!!!!
