We arrived around 930am on a Tuesday morning and the place was empty with only a few customers. Our waitress seemed to be hurrying us to order so I ordered an omelette and asked if the home fries could be added, the waitress said she would ask the cook and if not, they could be added as a side, she came back to the table and said the manager said they would do it this time because they were not busy but not to make it a habit because during their busy hours they would not be able to do this, I told her thank you I appreciate that. Our food came to the table, the potatoes were added to the omelette and there was also a side of potatoes on the plate all of which was cold along with my husband’s potatoes, the english muffin I ordered well buttered well toasted was also sent back and came out the same way the second time. The manager brought my food out to the table after my husband finished his breakfast and said I’m sorry you’re right the potatoes were cold so we made you a new batch. We were supposed to be having breakfast together!! As soon as the manager dropped my plate off the waitress brought the bill and laid it on the table and said I’ll take that when your ready.. at that point I’d had enough I asked for a box, we paid the full bill along with a 20% tip and left.. we will not visit this location again !!

What stuck out the most is that my breakfast came with 2 poached eggs; 1 cooked perfectly with a runny yolk, the other had a hard cooked yolk. How do you call yourself a breakfast place when you can't get the eggs to turn out right?

Staff is really friendly but the food was just very basic. The French toast was bread with cinnamon and powdered sugar. You can make better at home

This place seems burdened with inconsiderate and often rude servers. I live relatively close and a good bit over half the time we get someone who's acting like it's torture to be there. Food's great and usually another server or floor manager comes by and helps pick up the slack but it's unfortunate. Country fried steak is bomb though, biscuits too.

The Belgium waffles were charred lightly and my biscuit was lightly charged. Not burnt but weird and not the best. The potatoes looked like they had been left out a while and oxidized and then cooked. Not the best either. Coffee was good. Service wasn't great. They brought the food and them.immediately brought the check out, like they were done with us.

Himes Breakfast House is an absolute gem in Riverview! The service is truly amazing. You feel welcomed and taken care of from the moment you walk in. The pancakes are hands down the best in the area: fluffy, delicious, and perfectly made every single time.

A special shout-out to Lisa, who is a true standout: personable, attentive, and always on top of things, but honestly, the entire staff is on point and incredibly friendly. They work together seamlessly and create a warm, family-style atmosphere. If you're looking for a great breakfast spot where the food is excellent and the service makes you want to return again and again, Himes Breakfast House should be at the top of your list.

The quality of the food was good, which is the only reason this review isn't lower. Unfortunately, the dining experience was severely let down by the poor service we received.
The issue was not simply slowness, but a concerning disparity in treatment. Our server was visibly warm, attentive, and friendly—complete with a smiling face—when interacting with other tables. However, their demeanor toward us was the complete opposite, feeling cold and unwelcoming. This visible difference made the experience particularly unpleasant and felt unprofessional.
If this establishment truly aims to excel, matching its clear quality of food with excellent customer service, the owner or management must step in and address staff conduct immediately. A consistent, positive guest experience is essential for success.

We were traveling that morning and decided to have a sit down meal rather than McDonalds again. Arrived probably after a Saturday rush at 10:15 and found no waiting which was good, but it still took about 35min to be served food. A longer than usual wait apparently as the server did stop by and reassure us that the food would come out soon. Wife’s omelette looked great. She actually likes grits and said both the omelette and grits were good. My over-medium eggs were not even what I’d consider over easy. I chose regular home fries as opposed to loaded (with onions, peppers etc) but they came with onions anyway. Both went in the trash. I didn’t feel like waiting for my eggs to be cooked more after our wait already. The catfish filet was very good, however. The coffee was extremely strong. My parents would have loved it. You could have stood a spoon in it.
I’m certain this place performs better as it was obviously popular, but today was not our day. We’ll stick to McDonald’s on the remainder of our trip.

I previously had a great experience here and even left a 5-star review, but my most recent visit was disappointing. The poached eggs on my eggs Benedict were overcooked and yolks completely hard, the pork belly was all fat, and the pancake was dense and soggy... not fluffy at all. I’m hoping this was just an off day, because I know they can do much better based on my first visit.
