The food was ok, the portions big. Service was great. The place is just too loud.

This is a great place and we go there often, however, dont go on off hours. Short staffed and food not up to par. Said we would never go again at off hours, but really wanted Mexican. We went at 3:30. My favorite dish was not great. Regular hours id totally different.

I've been to Los Agaves several times and always have a great experience. Staff are always polite and efficient and sometimes friendly. The food is always cooked well and out quickly, even with a larger group at busy times. They have a lunch combo section which is great and many of their dishes are available in both a lunch and a dinner size (at least at lunch time) depending on how hungry you might be. There are some vegetarian options but not a lot of vegan options that I saw. However, the restaurant was accommodating to a friend who requested their meal without specific ingredients to make it vegan. Atmosphere is often a busy, packed and sometimes noisy restaurant so if you're looking for a quiet, romantic place this isn't the one for you. Decor is nice without being overwhelming. Most of their tables are set up to seat six, but they're very close together and don't leave a lot of room between them. I really love their tacos and my partner loves their super burrito. I have rarely ever waited more than a few minutes to be seated.

Fajitas are my favorite. To go order was nice with some extra salsa which I appreciate. I had complained about the chips but they were a lot better today… sometimes they were too thick with a bad hard texture… these were lighter and crispier…

Really has went downhill. If you dine in be prepared to wait a long time for your meal and have terrible service. If you take out be prepared to not have your meal placed, then when they try to make it, it's wrong. The last several times have been horrific and we will never return. Tonight we placed an order which included two straight off the menu vegetarian meals. Arrive and only 1 was made. They then made the meal over, and made it with meat. The previous time, ordered another item off the menu, get there at the suggested time and they said oh we didn't put in your order because wete out of that item. Well thanks for never calling to alert me or letting me when when I placed the order. They then had me order something else, and it took 1 hour for a chimichanga! Anytime we dine in, the wait is extended the staff/service is random. I understand if I was making substitutions and changes, these are straight off the menu items. All around disappointment
Service was mediocre, rice was under cooked, took forever to get the food. This place used to be good but kind of went down hill. Also $5 for a side of beans is a joke.

Los Agaves has become one of Royal Palms stalwart, go-to restaurants offering large portions of classic Northern Mexican cuisine in a festive, if not over-the-top, atmosphere. The food and service at Los Agaves are reliably good, and a meal here is bound to be affordable and satisfying.
The menu is full of dishes that will be familiar to anyone who has eaten at a Mexican restaurant over the last forty years. There's the expected selection of tacos, burritos, enchiladas, chimichangas and fajitas rounded out by more complete dinners featuring grilled or roasted meats, all served with sides of refried beans and Mexican rice.
While the menu offerings and style of the surroundings might feel a bit outdated to some customers, the food's quality and value combined with the folksy feel of the restaurant mean that Los Agaves remains a solid choice for an everyday meal or special outing with the family.

We absolutely love coming here. I been here like 10 times already. The staff is always welcoming, friendly & great. The chef needs a raise because the food is always so good and on point ? 2 for 1 margaritas from frozen ones to on the rocks! My favorite is the frozen blueberry, strawberry pineapple. The enchiladas are my fav too! Always recommending!

I love Mexican food and this was the very type of Mexican Restaurant that I like. The food was excellent! Chips and very spicy salsa. 2 Enchiladas and 1 beef taco - perfect with sweet iced-tea. Service was friendly and superb! Will definitely be coming back!!!
