The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill - St. Johns, FL

I luv to give a good food review with over 7 million looks on Googlereviews. I missed the red flags when it's 12:30 on a weekday and the place was empty. I was completely disappointed by this place. I ordered the gyro combo for $20+ bucks. The gyro meat came out cold as ice, so I had to ask why it wasn't warm. The manager was nice and reheated my gyro i already bit into. The pepper shaker had a hair stuck to it. Gross! The place looked brand new and amazing, wish the food was as good as the atmosphere.

We ordered through Grub Hub tonight. Now I know Grub Hub inflates the restaurant’s prices but my husband ordered a gyro plate ($18.99 restaurant price, not the price we paid through Grub Hub) and there was literally one pita and 3-1/2 oz of meat in the container. It looked so small that I actually weighed it. He did get a small side salad too but 3 oz of meat for almost 20 bucks? Crazy expensive and never going back again. Back to the other Greek places we’ve been to that are a way better value (less expensive and at least twice the meat) and just as tasty.

Ordered a large Greek salad with gyro meat which cost $20. Meat was completely dried out and stiff and the bagged lettuce was already turning pink. Called to see if management would do anything and would only credit the meat. Go to Natural Greens in Durbin instead where the meats always fresh

Chicken was so dry my daughter couldn’t even eat it, without a beverage because it was inedible. Rice was cold. Pita dry, hummus just ok. Gyro meat looked fresh taste was average. We are accustom to fine Greek cuisine freshly made and prepared daily, from diners to gyro speciality restaurants this place has potential when it opened but now just another restaurant needing managerial & quality control asap!

Spanikopita was dry and tasted old. Dough was not flaky but tough to bite. Hardly any spinach in it at all.
Gyro meat is salty and tasted like it was from yesterday as well.
The lemon potatoes had zero lemon flavoring and weren't cooked all the way through (apparently were supposed to be in a red lemon sauce? ) I got huge undercooked fries.
The pita is good. The Tzatziki is good. The salad was a salad. Used my own dressing at home bc theirs was 95% oil.

The Spanakopita was awful. It was mostly a flaky crust with very little filling. The Great Greek is usually good but today it was smaller with less meat. The cashier was friendly but forgot to add the extra sauce. Very disappointed.

We visited this new restaurant in the hopes of satisfying our need for Greek food, but were disappointed. We ordered chicken souvlaki and lamb souvlaki bot of which we're beyond dry, unable to be eaten without dipping it in the tsaziki sauce that came with it. The tsaziki was okay but a little bland. I had the eggplant based soup and it was very good, my husband had the Greek salad and it was very good as well. It was too expensive for what we received.
