Eh, it wasn't the worst Mexican food we've had, but it wasn't great. Chips and salsa are $3, but there wasn't much. The salsa is just chopped tomatoes and onions with a tiny bit of cilantro and a couple chucks of pepper. It wasn't very flavorful. We don't eat spicy, so we couldn't eat the other three salsas. If you're going to charge for chips and salsa you should ask what spice level to bring. We didn't know we were going to be charged for it, either. We were asked if we wanted chips and salsa after we'd already handed over our menus, and every other restaurant serves it for free. My small chimichanga was dry with just a tiny amount of sauce on the plate underneath. The chicken inside was dry inside, and there was just a little bit of refried beans inside. I also ordered the rice and beans on the side. The beans we good, but the rice didn't have much flavor. My husband's burrito had a ton of mixed vegetables inside for some reason. He said that's all he could taste. They also brought him a side of rice and beans, but he didn't order them. He just thought his meal came with them. But, when the check came he was also charge for his rice and beans. Unfortunately, we won't be back. As Tampa locals we know there's much better Mexican food around.

Surely wasn't what I expected. The service was very slow and the food well. I think Taco Bell is better. I had a White Russian and it was about in the smallest glass I've ever drank out of and it was real high priced. Sorry but most of the time I look for the good in things and I couldn't find it at this restaurant

This place is truly wonderful! The food is delicious, and the atmosphere is lively and inviting. You can really feel their pride in sharing authentic Mexican culture through their cuisine. Whenever you're in town, I highly recommend stopping by for a great experience.

For where it's at, and not a lot of other options on the island, this is an okay Mexican restaurant. However, they will gouge you when they can. Their basket of chips is actually not very good and completely unsalted. Anyway, not only is it a poor choice of chips, but when I ran out I asked for another basket, which they brought with a smile NEVER once mentioning there was an extra charge!!! Are you kidding me, you are going to charge me for an extra basket of tips. I have been to hundreds of Mexican restaurants and this is only the second time it's ever happened. The first time was a higher end Mexican restaurant this is your basic Mexican restaurant. Their salsa game needs work too.

The food and service were not good. I wouldn’t recommend. You have to pay for chips and salsa. The entrees come with tiny scoops of rice, beans etc. Want more than one type of taco? You’re buying multiple entrees. Want shredded cheese? Extra hot sauce? $2. Ridiculous. This restaurant wouldn’t survive outside of it’s location.
We enjoyed this place! We sat outside with our dogs and enjoyed our meals!
Agave Restaurant is an incredible dining experience in St Pete Beach. The restaurant is in a great location to get in and out of, with parking everywhere.
The wait staff is courteous, attentive, and responsive which compliments the dining experience. The restaurant offers inside and patio dining.
Agave Restaurant is great for any sized group, whether you are alone, on a date, with family or a large group.
As for food options, Agave Restaurant has a nice selection of dining options worth taking the time to work through the menu with multiple visits. If you are looking for suggestions I would recommend the chili relleno or enchiladas 😋 As for drinks, there house margarita is worth a try.

Wife and I Live 2 minutes away and finally got around to trying this spot. We were told to sit outside while we wait as they were extremely busy inside. We waited outside for 20 minutes before they came out and asked us if we wanted to move inside. We said we were fine to stay outside. 15 more minutes pass before a server comes to take our drink order. We ordered the trio to snack on, our food and water. The trio comes out 10 minutes later (no water). 30 more minutes pass by with no food or water, meanwhile the table of 15 people that showed up 20 minutes after us is getting served all of their hot food. I ask why our food hasn’t come out yet even though we ordered before this group even got here. The food comes out 10 minutes later, ICE COLD. I’m sure it’s a good spot when they’re not busy but I would avoid this place if they look busy.

We've come to expect free chips and salsa at Mexican restaurants, but you have to pay for them here. We've come to expect taco specials on Tuesdays, but no specials at this place. The frozen margaritas were too watery, but luckily they exchanged them for ones on the rocks. The biggest disappointment were the taco meals. The taco meals are advertised as four tacos, but they fail to mention they're mini tacos. Take a good look at the pictures of the tacos other reviewers have posted.
Best Mexican food I have had since I moved to FL a few months ago. Delicious.

I am beyond thrilled with the service and food of this resturant. I am from Texas and love visiting varies parts of Mexico. My absolute favorite food is Mexican and Tex-Mex. I see that this resturant had some bad reviews but I refused to let the reviews sway me from trying the food, and I am so glad I did. It was a wonderful dinning experience, and the food was perfectly seasoned. The establishment is cozy and the service was perfect without being hovering. My only regret is that I found an authentic Mexican resturant and it's three hours away and I can't visit every week.
