I felt compelled to write this because exceptional service and exceptional food deserve to be recognized.
My family and I have been vacationing in St. Pete Beach for the past six years, and one tradition we never miss is a visit to Shrimpy's. What's remarkable is that every single year we come back, the food somehow gets even better. Most restaurants struggle to maintain consistency over time, but Shrimpy's continues to raise the bar year after year.
From the moment we walked through the door until the moment we left, everything was absolutely top-notch. Our server, Jake, was outstanding. He was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and made us feel like valued guests rather than just another table. Great servers can make a meal memorable, and Jake certainly did that.
Now let's talk about the food.
I have eaten seafood all over Florida and throughout the country, and I can honestly say that Shrimpy's serves some of the finest Cajun-style seafood I have ever had. Every dish was cooked to perfection, seasoned flawlessly, and bursting with flavor. The freshness of the seafood was obvious from the first bite, and the chefs clearly take tremendous pride in what they do.
What impressed me most was that nothing felt rushed, pre-made, or ordinary. Every plate that came to our table looked incredible and tasted even better. It's rare to find a restaurant where both the kitchen and the front-of-house staff perform at such a high level, but Shrimpy's has mastered both.
John John, you have built something special. The fact that my family has returned for six straight years—and that we leave more impressed each time than the year before—says everything that needs to be said. Outstanding servers, phenomenal chefs, a welcoming atmosphere, and food that keeps people talking long after they leave.
In my opinion, this isn't just the best seafood restaurant on St. Pete Beach—it's the best Cajun seafood restaurant I've ever experienced anywhere.
If you're looking for authentic Cajun seafood done right, stop searching and go to Shrimpy's. Five stars isn't enough.
We'll absolutely be back next year, just like we've been for the last six years.
And one final piece of advice for anyone reading this review: save room for the bread pudding. Trust me. Just when you think the meal can't get any better, the bread pudding shows up and delivers the perfect ending to an already unforgettable meal.

“We ate here 2 nights while staying on the beach this week. The hummus and flatbread along with their house salad for a starter was sooo good. The coconut shrimp was good and the coconut curry snapper was the best fish I have ever tasted and I grew up in Florida. The dish is not sweet and the flavor is amazing along with fish cooked perfect. Don’t hesitate to eat here it was our best meal when in St Pete Beach. Thanks Snappers we will be back!”

The trout was only $15.95 and absolutely delicious, and the Mezzo Mezzo pasta was just as amazing. The crab looked so good that I'm already wishing I'd ordered it, but I was craving pasta! It's not right on the beach, but it's definitely worth the visit. Don't judge a book by its cover. This place is a hidden gem!”

The soft shell crab was very good according to my friend. It’s a quirky place to stay, but very well run. Love the breakfast delivered in the morning.”

“THIs I S THE BESTEST PLACE ON ST. PETE BEACH!!!!!! Ya do not want to leave once you are there. Amanda is the sweetest and now she is my adopted daughter cuz i fell in love with her. She took very hood care of my 80 yr old momma and she had a blast . Devin will rock your world with his cocktails and the DUDE is Chris himself. Love my new tiki family. Always a great time with fun people and even better when it storms. Only tiki bar on my list to visit every single time I am here. And i spend a time there every day while on vacay. Generally I am not a drinker but on the beach a bloody Mary from Chris' beachside tiki bar makes me happy every time and Amanda will create a drink if needed and Devin is more than accommodating. “I stopped into McNasty’s Bar and Grill on St. Pete Beach and had the absolute pleasure of being served by Trish behind the bar. She’s the real deal fast, friendly, and knows how to read the room perfectly.
Drinks were spot-on, she had great recommendations, and somehow kept everyone around her laughing while the bar was slammed. You can tell she genuinely cares about making sure people have a good time.
McNasty’s already has the beach vibes, but Trish is the reason I’ll be back. If management is reading this: give her a raise. If you’re visiting: sit at her bar. You won’t regret it.”

“This place is beautiful! I was worried this spot wouldn't be able to recover after that horrible hurricane season, but the inside and outside look gorgeous. We had Jen as our server and she was on point, knowledgeable, and fun. The food is delicious. We especially loved the bone in ribeye and seafood tower. Loved the pink flamingo cocktail and their wine selection is very smart too. Have to try the fluffy mai tai next time because the guava foam looks delicious. We will be back!”

“I love going ther. I want their last Saturday and I watched people who had their dogs bothering people. When was a big Great Dane like and it tried to eat the food off a guy's plate he was getting disgusted. The other dog was smaller but still a pain in the ass . People need to keep their dogs at home.”

We called them the day of to see if they could accommodate 13 collegiate basketball players and their coaches and families, and they made it happen!
