Just wanted to give a big shout out to RipTides and amazing bartenders Maddy and Johnny! After being made to feel unwelcome and snubbed at another local bar, these guys went above and beyond treating us as regulars not tourists! Thank you! We will always recommend going here to anyone who asks for a place to go and we can’t wait to come back! Hopefully it will be warmer than last week 😂
Great gem we found, had to go back twice on our short vacation. Maddy and her fellow servers were amazing, the atmosphere was welcoming and sooo fun. Can wait to visit when we get back! And we’re bringing Malort!

Riptides is a popular local bar that has a gritty charm and a mix of people that keeps things interesting. It is not quite a dive bar but has a dark yet open atmosphere. Smoking is allowed, and although it can be smoky depending on where you sit, the AC and outside breeze help make it more comfortable. The bartenders are quick, even during busy times, and they serve good drinks like margaritas at affordable prices. The crowd is usually loud, a little drunk, and having a good time, with beach regulars, late-night wanderers, and off-duty workers all mixing together. The place is lively and stays open late, perfect for those not ready to call it a night. There is no food other than some snacks, but the bar offers a jukebox, pool table, and dart boards for entertainment. Despite changes due to a hurricane, it remains welcoming to all, including Harley riders. Known for years, it is a top beach bar and worth visiting if nearby or even for a trip.
