This place is the best “hole in the wall” sushi restaurant in St Pete.
The food quality is 10/10.

Miso Soup - tasted like bonito base, tasted great
Eel Skewer - thick cut, 3 pieces, heavenly
Chirashi Bowl - tender cuts, little small, but perfect for the bowl size
Okonomiyaki - holy smokes - best thing of the night, flavor bomb
Fat Ass Roll - so good I didn't even need soy and wasabi - raw dogged and incredible!

Delicious food and delightful service! We've been here three times since they opened and have thoroughly enjoyed every experience. We've even grabbed food to-go a couple times with great results! The Busted and Firework rolls are incredible, and we enjoy the Krab Rangoons as an appetizer. Highly recommend!

The food here is absolutely amazing and authentic! The sushi is the freshest I’ve ever had here in Florida and that says a lot being a peninsula.

We ordered the Okonomiyaki which was so flavorful and best combination of textures. The buccaneer and Bobby roll was 1000% the best!

My family tried this sushi spot for the first time and it’s really delicious. The prices are good especially for the quality. The menu is extensive. The service was great too. I’ll be back soon.

I came in with my girlfriends and ordered the Volcano Roll, and it was absolutely delicious. It was topped with three different types of fish and caviar and filled with imitation crab, and avocado. The flavors were incredible, and every bite was perfectly balanced.

I especially loved the sauce that accompanied the roll. I requested a little extra on the side, and it made the dish even better. I also ordered a side of miso soup and a salad, which complemented the meal perfectly.

Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience, and I would definitely order the Volcano Roll again.

Visiting from Massachusetts, where we’re lucky to have high standards for authentic cuisine, I have to say Ichiban Izakaya truly impressed us. Every dish we ordered was extremely flavorful and thoughtfully prepared. You could immediately taste the freshness and quality in every bite.
The sushi was especially outstanding — beautifully presented, vibrant in color, incredibly fresh, and packed with flavor. Each roll tasted balanced and carefully crafted, not just visually appealing but genuinely delicious.
Our entire party was beyond happy with the experience. From freshness to flavor, Ichiban Izakaya exceeded expectations. We’ll absolutely be back the next time we’re in town!
