First and foremost their botanicals are fantastic. I avoided kava for years thinking I didn’t like it; it turns out I’ve just never had good kava until now. Their kratom is equally enjoyable, and they offer a wide variety hot teas, coffee drinks, kombucha, and soft drinks all at some of the best prices in town.
The space is clean and inviting, and the walls are covered in the work of many local artists. The staff are all fantastic and have warm welcoming personalities. They’re all wonderful. I recommend Muddy to anyone looking to explore botanicals for the first time as well as those already familiar with the community.

I stopped into Muddy Water Kava & Tea for the very first time, and wow—what a great experience. The second I walked in, I was welcomed with smiles and a laid-back vibe that instantly made me feel at home.
I wasn’t sure what to order since it was my first time, but the staff took the time to explain the menu, walk me through the different options, and even made some great recommendations. I tried the kava, and it was smooth, relaxing, and way better than I expected for a first experience.
The atmosphere is cozy, mellow, and really inviting—perfect for hanging out, meeting people, or just unwinding after a long day. You can tell this place is built around community, not just drinks.
All in all, I left feeling relaxed, welcomed, and already looking forward to coming back. If you’ve never been to a kava bar before, this is the place to start.

This is a good place. Especially when Mike Murray is working, he is my favorite person to see here. I never have to wait long or at all and Mike is in general a lot of fun to see. Suggest going mid shift to see this guy in action.

The quality of the teas and kava are a point of pride for them—they care about the products they serve and that is evident. I know everyone is looking for a third space that doesn’t involve alcohol. It’s a place where you’re allowed to linger. Do some work on your laptop, unwind, or talk to someone—whether they be a bartender, a friend, or a stranger.

Great teas, great customer service, super fun atmosphere that is also very dog friendly! They even have a lil caged in dog park out back with lots of balls for throwing and a lot of plants. Lots of places to sit also. I'll be going back for sure!

Great teas, great customer service, super fun atmosphere that is also very dog friendly! They even have a lil caged in dog park out back with lots of balls for throwing and a lot of plants. Lots of places to sit also. I'll be going back for sure!
