Went into Ace Cafe and left with mixed thoughts. Our server was awesome and the food was very good , no complaints there. But the rest of it felt a little off.
With it being Ace and having two bars, I expected some standout signature drinks or bartenders that could serve up great mixed drinks, but the mixed drinks were some of the worst we have had in a long time. We ended up switching to beer and wine instead. The beer was decent, though not quite cold enough from the tap, and the wine selection was almost nonexistent, just a few cheap options that weren’t very good.
The layout is odd and echoey, especially near the big screen in the back, and overall it just lacks personality, reminded me more of a cafeteria or even The Barn or The Alley if they decided to serve food, throw in some IKEA chairs, and call it a day. It feels unfinished and surprisingly bland.
As mentioned before, the food we tried was good, even with the limited menu. New openings take time, and I hope Ace finds its place, but between the poorly made drinks, the strange layout and atmosphere, it’s not quite enough to make us rush back.

Stopped in for an early Biketoberfest dinner. Food was great and the atmosphere was very festive. Try the ribs, they were delicious.

Wow, this place is an amazing addition to downtown Sanford! Such a great building and vibe. Burgers were great. Service was top notch. Plenty of parking and a short walk to local breweries. 🍻🍻 Can't wait to come back for live music events.

The ambiance is something you must experience to appreciate. I ordered a cheddar cheese smash burger 🍔 which automatically comes with fries. Very competitively priced and it was awesomely delicious. Really cool retail area in the front makes it unique. Perfect addition to a revitalized downtown Sanford. I'll be back many many times I assure you.
