“Had been a while, maybe a couple of years, since I'd been, but I definitely won't make that mistake again. Every single thing ordered was on point. Sleepy little gem in Sanford serving elevated takes on Southern favorites. Came for a late dinner (9 p.m.) and ordered our way through small plates tapas style. Every single thing was lovingly and expertly prepared. One incredible standout was the Tomato Mac. When it was brought to the table, I thought it looked like it would be a little bland and watery, but OMG, the flavors and texture in this dish were incredible - a sweet and savory delight. Another standout was the chicken liver mousse. Chef's kiss! Also worked our way through hoecakes and the sticky ribs - the meat of which just fell off the bone. They were expertly trimmed and the Asian inspired glaze was to die for. Also sampled the cheddar jalapeno biscuits and the mushroom angolotti - all delicious. For dessert (all made in house), the cornmeal pie was to die for. Also had the smoked salted caramel ice cream, which was quite unique and inventive, as were the biscuits and chocolate "gravy."Even though the staff and kitchen were surely ready to wind down close to closing, we received excellent and gracious service and everything continued to be executed with great care and skill.I will definitely be sure to visit much more often! Compliments to the owners and staff!”

The dish was very flavorful and the homemade chips and salsa was fresh. During our visit, Ms.Gina came to our table to welcome us and recommended a few other dishes to try on our next visit. The customer service experience we received was impeccable. We will definitely be returning back to try other dishes soon.”

“On a recent visit with our adventure club, which included a food and beer exploration with Sanford Food Tours, we had the pleasure of visiting several hot spots across Downtown Sanford. However, among all the flavors and experiences, including some gems like Hollerbach and Buster's, the one gem that really stood out unanimously as our favorite was Dees Bros.This family-operated brewery and eatery is run by two brothers who craft their own beer while one of their wives brings authentic family recipes to life. They provided us with an unforgettable dining experience filled with samples of some great dishes as well as their signature Cotswolds Ale. The warmth and dedication of the family not only shines through in their interactions but also in every dish and brew they offer.Our samples at Dees Bros included their Hot Ham & Sliders, Grandma's Swedish Meatballs, Spent Grain Pretzel with Gooey Beer Cheese Dip, and the amazingly refreshing Swedish Cucumbers. Each dish was a masterpiece of traditional and family-inspired cooking. It was so good we went back for more after our tour was over!Our beer selections, the Cotswolds Ale and the Aquadnauts, complemented the meal beautifully. The Cotswolds Ale, an English Amber Ale, was praised by our group for its easy-drinking nature and versatility with the diverse flavors of our dishes. But for me it was the Aquadnauts, a Belgian Quad, that stole the show. It's not just a sandwich...the flavor profiles join forces to tickle your taste buds in a symphony of deliciousness. Ricky Balboa is next. This will be my new go to sandwich shop. I am ruined for all others. if I wasn't full, I would grab another right now.”

“What a pleasurable experience! First as smoker I appreciate the fact that you are allowed to smoke on the outside. I had the shrimp and grits it was AMAZING. “Stopped in for dinner after racing go-karts at ELEV8. The place was packed with a wait list, but we found a couple of spots at the bar. The bartender was dealing with an issue with the draft system but still had a smile on his face. I ordered a Long Island. It came in a pint glass and was very tart. When it came time to order another, I inquired about the excessive amount of sour. He explained that the company recipe was 2oz liquors and 4oz of sour. I asked if the next one could be made short or in a collins glass to limit the sour and subsequent acid reflux. He gladly accommodated my request (pictured) and had a happy LIT customer. The food was great, as well, and the service, obviously, outstanding!”

We enjoyed taking advantage of the fun promotions (great deals!) offered by Kade including Wine Wednesday and additional meals to go which made our recent move back to town a little more fun and less stressful. Our food was delicious, we had excellent service and we had a great time. Would definitely recommend this restaurant, location and this server, Kade to anyone. “Enjoyed lunch here on Saturday at around 11:30am. Restaurant was very quiet (only 3 parties in the restaurant including me). I was told to sit wherever I’d like, so I took a comfortable booth. My server was attentive and brought me fresh bread even before getting my drink order. The bread was alright. A bit on the doughy side with no real crust/crunch to it, and the raw garlic was a bit intense. If the bread was crustier and they sauteed the garlic, it would be better. For my entree I decided to try something crazy that I’ve never heard of before, filet mignon parmesan served over mushroom alfredo pasta. While not very traditional, I did enjoy what was a very generous portion of pounded/breaded/fried steak with pomodoro and melted cheese served over a creamy alfredo pasta. I don’t think they make their pasta in-house, and that is something they should consider since so many high end Italian restaurants do now and it definitely makes a difference. “DO NOT RECOMMEND this narcissistic ran business!!! Never have I ever felt more disrespected than today 4/30/22 from an employee at Yabi that had the audacity to call me a liar when I called to explain to them that they didn’t give me the rolls I ordered. I order shrimp, krab, and salmon rolls. What I got was 2 salmon and 1 krab. My kid started eating from it not realizing what I had ordered until most of it was gone but this was the remainders of each row/set. No shrimp pictured. They asked me to send them a picture and they still are telling me I am a liar. And if I don’t like it why did I eat it. I never said I didn’t like the food or that my child didn’t, I am simply stating that I got two of one roll and not my shrimp. Simple. Instead I get called a liar?! This narcissistic ran business will never get another penny from me and I was a regular. I should’ve known something was off about this place when I overheard other customers complaining out front about their workers not washing their hands or changing gloves. Absolutely unbelievable how much gaslighting this employee. Telling me to bring back the whole plate after I said that’s all that’s remaining…& he would give me a $100 but I can’t now can I because it was eaten. Like wtf is wrong with people?!?”

Ample parking easy get in and out.Parking: Easy in out parking then another lot for extra parking.”

“Ellen's is a gem in Sanford for lovers of wine (and music and special dinners on certain nights). Intimate, beautiful interior surrounded by walls of unique wines. Seating on comfy couches, wine bar or patio. Lots of wines by the glass, and the bottle prices are so good you should just get bottles (including bottles To Go). Some nice beers for beer lovers. Frequent Events on the website, like special dinners and wine tastings. Great live music Fri and Sat nights with Chuck and his guitar. Tom, Ellen, Chuck and lots of regular customers and friends make you feel welcome. We travel a lot and Sanford is lucky to have such a unique place as Ellen's. Highly Recommend, and we will be there whenever we're in town.”

The biscuit was light and fluffy and the gravy tasted homemade. We had a spicy Bloody Mary to drink and it was good (they use Zing Zang which is our fave). The place is small so I can see where you might go and there is “no room at the inn” but definitely worth a visit! We will go again!”

“It's safe to say the Imperial at Washburn is one of the best bars in downtown Sanford. The vibe is quirky and eclectic, yet comfortable with purchasable antique furniture filling most of the space. You can expect consistent service here as the bartenders are always efficient and still manage to whip up cocktails pretty quickly even when the place is packed. My favorite thing about Washburn is that the cocktails are just like the decor/furniture that's for sale on the inside, ever changing and unique. The menu seems to change pretty regularly, but I can honestly say I've never been disappointed by any drink here! On my most recent visit I tried the Gin Grapefruit Cosmo and the 2020 Daiquiri and both cocktails were exceptional. Whether you're looking for a classic cocktail or a new spin on a traditional one, the Imperial at Washburn in Sanford will keep you coming back for more!”

“Stopped in for dinner after racing go-karts at ELEV8. The place was packed with a wait list, but we found a couple of spots at the bar. The bartender was dealing with an issue with the draft system but still had a smile on his face. I ordered a Long Island. It came in a pint glass and was very tart. When it came time to order another, I inquired about the excessive amount of sour. He explained that the company recipe was 2oz liquors and 4oz of sour. I asked if the next one could be made short or in a collins glass to limit the sour and subsequent acid reflux. He gladly accommodated my request (pictured) and had a happy LIT customer. The food was great, as well, and the service, obviously, outstanding!”
