“Had been a while, maybe a couple of years, since I'd been, but I definitely won't make that mistake again. Every single thing ordered was on point. Sleepy little gem in Sanford serving elevated takes on Southern favorites. Came for a late dinner (9 p.m.) and ordered our way through small plates tapas style. Every single thing was lovingly and expertly prepared. One incredible standout was the Tomato Mac. When it was brought to the table, I thought it looked like it would be a little bland and watery, but OMG, the flavors and texture in this dish were incredible - a sweet and savory delight. Another standout was the chicken liver mousse. Chef's kiss! Also worked our way through hoecakes and the sticky ribs - the meat of which just fell off the bone. They were expertly trimmed and the Asian inspired glaze was to die for. Also sampled the cheddar jalapeno biscuits and the mushroom angolotti - all delicious. For dessert (all made in house), the cornmeal pie was to die for. Also had the smoked salted caramel ice cream, which was quite unique and inventive, as were the biscuits and chocolate "gravy."Even though the staff and kitchen were surely ready to wind down close to closing, we received excellent and gracious service and everything continued to be executed with great care and skill.I will definitely be sure to visit much more often! “SBC is our go-to stop for lunch and a growler refill when we fly into Sanford; we've come to expect really good food and service which is what keeps us coming back. Our most recent stop was on Thursday and our server was Chris. The bar has been set high in the past, but Chris was exceptional. He chatted a little, checked in with us regularly, and was always working. Without exception, just when we would think we were ready for something, he was magically right there on the spot. Very impressive and worth noting. We had the pretzel bites and grilled mahi sandwich. Food was really good as usual, but the service was especially worthy of a shoutout.“
“What a pleasurable experience! First as smoker I appreciate the fact that you are allowed to smoke on the outside. I had the shrimp and grits it was AMAZING. You had choice of sides but very limited and nothing that really went with the shrimp and grits so I got fries. The wait staff was really nice. I would totally return again. “We had the beet salad and the pork belly appetizers followed by the espresso crème brûlée. Everything was outstanding. Our server Dylan was very attentive and knowledgeable about the food and wine we ordered. We came at 5 and were sorry we hadn't requested a table in the bar area, bc we were in the front room with four tables and we were the only ones for 45 minutes. We enjoy quiet, but we enjoy being with other diners. We will be back! Lots of things we'd like to try on the menu.“

“Sharline is an amazing server, super courteous and professional. She followed up with us in periodically and got our food out quick hot and ready. Chris is a great Chef, all the food came out great. “This was our first time here and wont be our last. Everyone we met from the owners to the chef were kind and friendly. The food was very good. I had a half order of biscuits and gravy. The biscuit was light and fluffy and the gravy tasted homemade. We had a spicy Bloody Mary to drink and it was good (they use Zing Zang which is our fave). The place is small so I can see where you might go and there is “no room at the inn” but definitely worth a visit! We will go again!“
“Amazing service and very homey, country cooking at its finest. One of the best chefs in the kitchen ??? the food was SOOO good and so was the coffee. The place was full but many were regulars so we got to hear them banter. The owner/server was so polite and joked around with us as well. Sadly, they will be closed April 3 for about 2 months for vacation time so the food and company will definitely be missed. We will definitely be back to try their lunch one day soon!“

“This was a great place to have lunch. The inside if very low-key casual dining, but the food was a step above that. We arrived on a weekday around noon and despite Sanford being unusually busy that afternoon, the restaurant was not really all that crowded, we were seated immediately. While her i ordered a Chicago Beef sandwich and it arrived fairly promptly. Notably, the sandwich was sizable. It was stuffed with chunks of beef and mushrooms topped with a layer of cheese. The sandwich was flavorful when I bit into it. Great tasking sandwich! The dish came with potato chips standard, but I opted to upgrade to Onion rings as a side - which was a great choice! The portion was large and there was no room for dessert - although I will admit that the desserts in the neighboring cold case looked quite appealing. There is both inside and outdoor seating at the restaurant. Sanford is usually fairly easy to find a parking spot if you are willing to walk a block or so from a public lot - which is really worth it because this area of Sanford is really cool to look around. This area also has a lot of street side parking which is usually occupied in my experience,Overall a great experience and I suspect I'll be here again!“

“when I came in today all of a sudden, I felt like I was going to pass out. this never happens and it was a little scary to me. but my server Kaishla got me water, grabbed me some fries, and made sure that I didn't embarrass myself by passing out at the restaurant. despite being busy she was really attentive, made sure I had everything I needed, and was just a little miracle I didn't know I needed. I'm really glad I was sat in her section. I eventually got the avocado bacon burger and it was AMAZING!!!
