MÉXICO 1800 Traditional Kitchen & Tequila Bar (Formerly Alebrije)

We have always loved the food, because the cook remains the same even when the owner has changed. The place is as beautiful as from the first time. The service changes frequently, sometimes well and sometimes not. What I found to be in very bad taste during our visit was that the bartender (who is not Mexican) said in a loud and derogatory voice “they are tacos and there is nothing special about tacos.” That more than anything else weighed us down and maybe we won't come back. What a shame because in the years that Alebrije has been there, we have never heard negative comments with attitude, much less from the employees themselves.

Machete was awesome, the cheese that they use is a high quality one. I’m from Mexico City so it’s hard to give a good review to Al
Pastor. They have nice TVS, Need to get cable for customers to be able to watch live sports events

Food was absolutely delicious, I had the machete w/Beef tongue, my Brother the surf and turf burrito, and my Father the quesadilla. The Margarita was great as well.

We went as family of 8 and had a nice food here...food was tasty, quality and good portion.

We ordered the Florentine Chipotle Salmon (must), Birria tacos (must), Chicken Quesadilla with cheese loaded for kids (must) and Chicken Fajitas and Chicken empanadas.. it was so yummy.. the Chips and fresh Guac was good as well.. Coffee Flan at the end was ultimate.. must try restaurant in Sanford area..

This place is an absolute gem. Pulling up we were a little nervous as it was in a strip mall...but the inside of the restaurant is gorgeous. The food is phenomenal...with an extraordinary selection of dishes. I had the skinny margaritas and the spinach salad with shrimp and it was absolutely perfect. 10/10

I really want to like this place, but I've been many times and the food is just ok. The house margaritas are way too sweet and sour. The tacos are bland. And the tortas are too soggy to pick up. It's never very busy and the staff, although nice, rarely speak English. There are better choices for good mexican food in the area. The prices here are not cheap either.

Bugs in my water and food was terrible… top shelf drink weak and not good.i ate one bite of my sampler appetizer and told her to take it away because it genuinely tasted terrible. Service was very slow for our table and we will never go back. Despite not eating the appetizer it was still on my bill. Don’t waste your money here trust me.
