MÉXICO 1800 Traditional Kitchen & Tequila Bar (Formerly Alebrije)

We were greeted when we arrived, but that was about the only decent part of the experience. Our server was extremely slow and spent most of the time on their phone, completely inattentive to our table. It felt like we were an afterthought the entire time.

The food? Just as bad. It was bland, and tasted like it had been sitting out way too long. Definitely not fresh, and certainly not worth the price.

If you're expecting good food and good service, you won’t find either here. Alebrije was a major letdown. I won’t be coming back, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. !SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSE WHERE!

The back of the restaurant had water intruding into the building, under the back door. The food was rather nondescript and bland. The server was attentive and friendly

The food here used to be fantastic. It closed for a while, then reopened under new management & the food is nowhere near what it was & is pretty expensive at that. I doubt we'll be returning. I'm sad that to have lost one of my favorite local Mexican restaurants.

I have lived in Sanford for 10 years+ this place I took some friends here. I should have went with my first instinct and walked right out. First impression it smelled terribly. Food was awful beans we're watered down and flavorless rice had absolutely no flavor! To top it all off the next morning I get a call from my bank saying someone used my credit card information to try and buy some clothes. I'm just glad that my bank caught it! Enter at your own rest!

Nice restaurant and bar. The atmosphere and decor were Mexican along with the food. The margaritas were delicious, and so were the beers. The food was fantastic. What a great flavor and plenty of it on our plates. The staff was very friendly and attentive to our wants. We'll be returning for sure.

I stopped by and ordered the nachos with ground beef. While the flavor was good, the chips were a major letdown. They were extremely hard and difficult to chew - and I'm not talking about the crunchy kind of hard, but more like rock-hard. My husband and I both struggled to bite into them, and that's saying something since we're not exactly dodging dentures. I ended up asking for regular chips, which solved the problem. However, I was disappointed that the restaurant didn't offer any discount or compensation for the inconvenience. Considering the issue, a small price adjustment would've gone a long way. On a positive note, my husband's brejia was delicious, as always. If you can work on their chip game, I'd be happy to bump up my rating.

Excellent service from Maggi! This is our first time here and it's FANTASTIC, we'll definitely be back. The Salmon with mushroom and spinach cream sauce is AMAZING, as well as the guac. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!

How TF are you gonna charge $10 for quest. How TF are you gonna be a Mexican resturaunt and not serve Pitchers of margaritas.
Food was mediocre at best, the tortilla chips tasted stale, and the queso was nearly soup.

great food, drinks are definitely worth the price, and great music.
