This is NOT a JAMAICAN restaurant. The food has no flavor, if you’re looking for authentic Jamaican food this isn’t the place for you, the rice and beans have no taste , curry goat and oxtail no good it is not Jamaican food. 0 stars.
I wish everyone has the chance to taste it once in his life

Door say they open at 11:30am but it’s more like they open when they want to so don’t go there thinking you can pick up lunch on time you will waste most of your lunch time waiting outside. The patties are really good, the food is a little bland but ok. Not authentic but watered down for the American palette. All and all a solid 3. Mid at best but those patties are a 10.

I’m from Jersey and love Jamaican food. My boyfriend is from Sanford and when he told me this was the best spot he was right. The curry goat, the chicken , the Rasta pasta just to name a few things. Everything is DELICIOUS! We just tried the carrot punch, I couldn’t stop drinking it. Best Jamaican spot in the county.

Tamera was truly exceptional—warm, sweet, and full of energy. If you’ve ever visited Jamaica or tasted food prepared by someone born and raised there, you’ll understand the authenticity that comes through in every bite. The rice is so rich and flavorful, you can even taste the subtle coconut—gravy isn’t even necessary. From the Bun and Cheese to the Rum Cake, every dish they prepare is thoughtfully crafted and bursting with flavor.

The most tasteless Jamaican food I ever had in my life, I also believe the food was old and had been sitting because it messed my stomach up badly and I never have stomach issues. The customer service was so trash I honestly wanted to cuss the lady out and they skimped me on the plate I got 6 mini oxtails for $20. The worst experience I ever had when it came to food, this restaurant should be shutdown immediately.

An Absolute Hidden Gem in Sanford!
I can’t believe I’ve lived in Sanford for almost 2 years and only just discovered Montego Bay Caribbean Takeout. Hands down, one of the BEST meals I’ve had in Central Florida. I ordered the jerk chicken and oxtail, and both were absolutely incredible—tender, flavorful, and packed with authentic island spices that had me scraping every last bite.
What made the experience even better were the owners—Uncle and Auntie were so kind, welcoming, and genuinely warm. You can feel the love they put into both their food and hospitality. It felt like I was visiting family, not just picking up takeout.
If you’re in Sanford or even nearby, do yourself a favor and check this place out. Support local, support authentic—this is the real deal. I’m already planning my next visit. Montego Bay has earned a lifelong customer.

Just visiting Florida, I had a craving for “jerk chicken” so I looked up what was close and chose what was said to be the absolute best! Absolutely wrong!!!!! I guess you have to be a certain color to be treated right, who knew? Im not from here or else I would have known to phone in and hide people or go in myself which is absurd, I know, but when you have to work around some ignorance, you do, we didn’t know. I’m black, but my wife is not, I didn’t know it was a prerequisite that everyone be black until inside. Once I noticed …..I put on my best behavior and tried to get good service even though my instincts and gut was teling me I would not due to the service and attitude I was receiving. We received bones, entire orders nothing but bones and cold cabbage, bay leaves still left in the food. A disgrace to say the least. I thought when you went public? You were proud and wished to share to the world your gift! I guess I was wrong. So heed my warning if you’re not black, ethnic or not loving who a restaurant owner thinks you should not. Your meal, appetite and wallet will suffer for YOUR LIFES decisions in this establishment. You will be judged and treated. WILL NEVER BE BACK! Over a weeks vacation of eating different places and this was the only place that disappointed and discriminated. NEVER AGAIN! Forty dollars wasted.
