Best soul food 😋 😍 we had a wonderful dinner thank u ladies

I had read about this restaurant for some time and heard the food was good, but didn't know where it was. I was downtown Sanford and heard the coolest reggae music, and was surprised to see the sign for Shantell's. So I went over and asked a couple if I had to go inside to order and was told no. After about 20 minutes Noone had come. I went inside and asked if someone waits on the people outside. A girl motioned to a guy saying he does. So I went back outside and waited 10 more minutes before I left. I told the couple I had talked to that I was diabetic and couldn't wait longer. Very sad. I did like the music though.

Wow, I’m glad to took the journey across town to try this! The freshness, flavor and quality pop with each bite. I didn’t even order their top three ordered items so I’ll be back later this week! Legit fresh cut fries too to just accent the dishes.

The best part is Shantell, she is very involved with the customers. The band helps to bring people together to create a positive environment. Shantell herself is everything. She runs a tight ship. Clean and positive environment. A lovely woman, she is the soul of the restaurant. I felt at home. Definantly a mood for the grown and sexy. The food was good.

The daughter with the nose piercings kept picking at her piercing which grossed me out. She should wash her hands before handling food.

This is the diamond in the rough right here. One of our favorite places! Best Jamaican beef patties, desserts, fried Green tomatoes, and chicken you will ever have.

There was a 45 minute wait w/o an explanation for sides that did not meet our expectations for good soul food. The fried chicken was the crowning jewel, but it was down hill after that.
Sadly. The owner was not truly open to constructive criticism.

We are out of town guests and we checked with the reviews, we were excited to eat at Shantell’s. IT was the WORST FOOD I have ever been served. After waiting 40
minutes, the shrimp & grits were served and you can smell that the shrimp was spoiled. We ordered chicken & waffles and were told they don’t make waffles??? We then ordered pancakes from cornmeal?? We also ordered two pieces of catfish and two sides. The sides were collard greens and Mac & cheese. After 30 minutes the server said they were out of Mac & cheese. So, we ordered yams. When the catfish dinner was served it was strips not filets and instead of yams we were served rice and black eyed peas, which were not good.
