Service was good. The rainbow trout was fresh but the encrusted pistachio was a bit heavy handed and could have used a lighter touch. The veggies and risotto were a nice touch, but the risotto was not hot. Limited wine by the glass choices. I'd come back for the short rib which I hear is their most popular dish.

First time and were truly disappointed! We went on website and looked at the menu. Decided we’d like to try the Shrimp and Grits and Green Eggs and Ham, so made a reservation. Arrived and didn’t think the place was as nice as it appeared on website but decided to go in. Noticed neither of the items we went for were on the menu. Asked waitress about the shrimp and grits and she said they didn’t have those anymore. I mentioned seeing them on the website and her response was, “yeah, they haven’t updated that in several years. The closest thing on our menu would be the Nawlins’ Sea Bass and Crawfish.” My husband decided to order that…nothing like shrimp and grits! Very lemony, vinegary flavored sauce. Not good in our opinion. He did say the mussels were very good and I enjoyed my wedge salad. I ordered the pork chop and it was good but a little fatty. The mashed potatoes didn’t have much flavor at all but the beans and carrots were nice. Decided to end with a piece of the chocolate cake. It too was okay but definitely not worth $9.50! All in all I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant. The food and prices shown on website are very misleading. If you run a business you should take pride in it and present it to your customers in a professional manner. The place could use a little facelift to make it look a little nicer too. On the plus side the 2 waitresses were very nice and attentive!

I got the pork chop. It was outstanding. One of the best i've ever had would highly recommend this place. Ambience is lacking, but otherwise fantastic service everything

After hearing great things, my family of five decided to give this place a try, but it fell short of expectations. I opted for the "half roasted mushroom chicken," only to receive a disappointingly small portion – just a drumstick and part of a thigh. While the mashed potatoes were decent, there wasn't enough, and the vegetable selection was lacking and cold. The meal left me unsatisfied, and I can't even remember the server checking on us. Although my aunt enjoyed the shrimp pasta, others found the burger to be average. Considering the $28 price tag for the chicken dinner, it felt overpriced. Even with the $1 off beers during happy hour, I left feeling let down by the overall dining experience. With plenty of other options in downtown Sanford, I'm not sure if I'll give this place another chance anytime soon.

Natalie is the best server! We've had her a couple of times now ! Finally took my mom here after telling her about it all the time and in her words, "I think that's the best steak I've had in 65 years". I agree, Mom!

The District Eatery Tap & Barrel is a culinary gem in the heart of Sanford, Florida. With its exceptional food and inventive cocktails, it promises a dining experience that is sure to delight the senses. Whether you prefer a refreshing mojito or a bold whiskey sour, the skilled bartenders at The District are adept at mixing up the perfect libation to suit your mood. I opted for a wonderful Spicy Paloma. They also have a large selection of beer and wine if you prefer. While the ambiance may leave something to be desired, I still love this spot!

I post the same experience as many others: walked into an empty restaurant at 6:00 pm on a Saturday evening and was told that the restaurant was "fully booked" with reservations, including the empty bar. When I pointed out that the place was empty and why couldn't we sit in the bar, I was told, "you can leave now." Well, okay, I did leave, and I will continue to post dismal reviews. I've eaten here before and the food is marginal. Nothing to come back for as there are too many other good places in Sanford to eat
