Some of the best food on Sanibel. Good docks to bring your boat too. Grab some shirts and some fuel as well.

Literally the worst food on the island of Sanibel. Bland fish, overcooked chips , undercooked burger, the sodas taste like they are made with crushed up tums. If you waste your time going there you will see what I mean.
Gramma Dot must be so disappointed.
Keye like pie tastes like sour milk without a speck of lime zest.
And it’s so overpriced. Never again.

Haven’t even gotten my food yet and already adding it to my favorite list for vacations!
Should open an hour earlier due to the line to get in!

On our recent trip to Cape Coral my family stopped by at Gramma Dot's Restaurant for lunch initially, and then we had to go back for dinner as well. The highlight was the basket of fish and chips (also served as lunch for dinner). The fish was fresh, lightly breaded, and absolutely delicious. We also had the Captain's Key Lime Pie which is made in house and was scrumptious.

The place opens at 11:30am. We got there at 11:25am and there was a line of about 30 people. As soon as the place opened, they seated everyone within 5 minutes. Our server was very sweet and welcoming. She took our orders quickly and brought us drinks right away. She also refilled our drinks twice during the hour that we dined. The food was ABSOLUTELY delicious and came out quickly. We had scallops, fried grouper, grilled grouper, and fried oysters. Every dish was 5 STARS. We’d highly recommend this place and look forward to dining here again. It’s a small place, so come early if you don’t want to wait 30+ minutes. As we were leaving at 12:30pm, they had another line of people, and we heard the wait was 30-45 minutes.

Be prepared to WAIT - you can order drinks from the bar and enjoy the marina while you wait
Our food took around 30-40 minute to come, we were a group of 4, food for the first two came out 10 minutes before the other two and it was already cold
Good quality food but not as good cold
Side of fruit means a garnish pretty much, hard inedible piece of pineapple
Okay place to stop for the one time but don’t think I’ll be back

Restaurantji Recommends
Fish and chips left a lot to be desired. The batter was a little too crispy. The service was not good at all. Our waitress was not around most of the time, but other servers were kind enough to check on us. Would not recommend for dinner.

Helen was our friendly server. Knowledgeable of the menu and was able to answer questions about allergens.
Crab meatballs were good. The key lime mustard is delicious. Blackened grouper Sammy was cooked perfectly. Plenty of popcorn shrimp. Refills came quickly

Beautifully situated restaurant with really good food. One of the freshest grouper filets I've had in the area. Really tasty smoked fish dip, also.
