The restaurant is very welcoming. I am from Miami where kindness is not common, even in places that are service oriented so I delighted to experience the warmth from the staff here. I was a in the mood for fresh grouper and they did not disappoint. It was delicious and worth going back for. I was able to watch the FSU vs Alabama game which was great. I see myself going back next time I am in town. The shrimp was a overcooked but I can work with that.

I was so excited when I found out the one on Perriwinkle rd. was now open. It’s the first restaurant we went to when we got on the island. Although the interior was terrific and our server was great, the experience wound up being very disappointing. We ordered the jalapeño poppers for an appetizer and they tasted like they just came from the freezer and heated up in the microwave. Chewy and not (temperature) hot enough. I then ordered the grouper sandwich grilled with fries. I was served instead the grouper cooked mesquite style in which the mesquite flavor was overly emphasized. Furthermore, the fries that came with the sandwich tasted as though they had been frozen. They had a cheap taste and obviously aren’t made fresh in house. For dessert, we chose the key lime pie. Big Mistake! We couldn’t taste any lime. Seriously! It tasted as though the baker forgot to add the key lime juice. It was like eating sweetened condensed milk on a graham cracker crust. When I told the server, she said a company makes them. I also noticed plastic cutlery, however I couldn’t remember if they used plastic prior to the hurricane.
In any event, I left there thinking that the owners/management have gone into cheap, low quality mode with the same high price. Don’t plan on returning…too many better options on the island!

We were here 4 year ago before the hurricane and the food was out of this world. Now we're here in 25 and the only thing that has changed is the building. The food was outstanding

Well we went to the first disappointing restaurant on the island so far !
Hours were wrong online and other customers were mad about it. We arrived at 7:20 and had to wait for a table for 20 minutes. Online it says they close at 10pm, but really it’s 8pm. So the place is packed.
Wait the 20 minutes and the service is so ridiculously slow. I got a blackened grouper salad and the grouper was all shriveled up, too salty to eat and burnt. Told the waitress and got the fish part of the salad completely taken off the bill, with no argument, which was surprising. That’s nice but still, very slow service. Felt like the waitress forgot we existed the entire time. Also ordered oysters and they said oh sorry we ran out. Lol every restaurant on the island has them ! Whatever. Don’t add this place to your list of restaurants you need to go to 😆 2 hours total of being in this dive bar for just a very ‘ok’ dinner.
