Sanibel Cafe is a must when you come to Sanibel - the ambiance and service is unmatched. Our kids had the m&m pancakes (yummy), we had the sanibel omelette and the breakfast quesadilla - both were so yummy! Be sure to check out their homemade raspberry jam, it's to die for and you can buy some to take home too!

My husband and I just had the pleasure of a delicious meal at Sanibel Cafe. We have been eagerly waiting for them to reopen. My husband loves their cheeseburger with bacon! I want to give a very sincere thankyou to the waiter we had today, Angel. I have gluten, dairy and other food sensitivities, and I was having trouble finding something on the menu to order that would not cause trouble for my system. My fall back for many restaurants is eggs over hard and hashbrowns, that are usually cooked with oil. The cafe now cooks them with butter, and I had to tell the waiter I could not eat there today, but my husband could without a problem. I am used to this, and after my husband or a friend eats, I just get a snack later at home. But Angel, God love him, concerned that I was not able to eat, went and talked to the dear owner, Richard, to see if he could have something made up for me!! I was stunned when Angel and Richard came to my table to talk with us!! Richard had some nice suggestions for me, saying that a lot of their menu can be adapted for people with sensitivities. He suggested frying some fish in olive oil then putting that on lettuce. Perfect!!! It was yummy, and I felt so happy and tearful for the trouble they went to. The cook did a lovely job with the fish, very tender and moist! As we were paying for our lunch, Richard explained to me that he had very much wanted to have a much more gluten free cafe when reopening after the hurricane. But after consulting with an expert, it would be prohibitively expensive to have a separate kitchen, etc, to avoid cross contamination for people who have celiac disease. He was disappointed, but resolved to make as food as accessible as possible for people like me who may not be celiac, but still very sensitive. The care and concern shown to me today felt like such a gift, and it made me tear up before my lunch came. Angel and Richard, and all the staff at Sanibel Cafe are so nice, as they have always been. We will definitely go back again soon!! Thankyou all so much!!

We had the coconut French toast, corned beef hash, and eggs Benedict. Everything was delicious! Service was great and the iconic shell tables and booths have been lovingly restored. I've been enjoying the nostalgic ambiance of Sanibel Cafe for decades. Now sharing it with a new generation!

This was such a cute find. We were seated promptly. I ordered an omelette with havarti, shrimp & onions. Delicious. Hubby ordered bagel with lox and the lox was delicious. Service was great! Everything was hot. Highly recommend

In a simple coffee, I found one of the best flavors. The food doesn't make any big promises, but it delivers far beyond what you expect.Simply delicious. Don't forget to try the house snacks.

Local restaurant with good service and food. The biscuits and gravy were pretty tasty, though the crab Benedict was not very flavorful. Service was friendly and quick.
