My family and I visited Shima tonight for my birthday. It was a very special night. We have been to Shima before and it has always been great. Tonight was no exception. We had Chef Laysel and he was terrific. (Note: All the chefs are great). Nicole helped to make it even better, as she always does. Overall, there is simply no better place to eat on Sanibel.

Place was not crowded. Great time. Chef was engaging and entertaining. Food and service was very good. Cannot wait to go back.

Wonderful experience overall. The food and flavors were delicious. Ask for Laysel and Nicole and you will have an amazing experience. A regular stop for us when visiting the island. Make reservations and enjoy your evening.

Went for our sons birthday and had a great experience! All of the food was well prepared and the quality of food was top notch. Our chef was entertaining and we all had a great time. Would highly recommend!

Highly recommend. We went on our 1st night here and liked it so much that we went again on our last night here. The food is delicious, better than any hibachi near us at home in the Boston area. The chef was so friendly and a great entertainer. He let us all help with an egg trick. He Does better trucks than our place at home.

Only grab and go was available- call to place order. There is no restaurant open or reservations taken (Aug 2022) but the grab and go was great once we figured out the number to call!

Our cook might have been new but most of the items we ordered had very little fried rice. I have need to many other hibachi japanese restaurants that are much better than this. I would recommend another restaurant in the hotel or on the island.

Amazing experience!! We have been to so many different hibachi restaurants throughout the years. This was, by far, the best! Laysel was our cook and he was amazing!!! Definitely recommend this spot if you are in the area.

We received wonderful service for our party of 18 on June 15 at Shima. Dining at Shima every June as part of our family's annual gathering on Sanibel is always a highlight, but this year was particularly notable. From setting up our reservation and table assignments with Wyndham and Sky to the dinner itself, our experience was excellent, including a last minute request to Nicole to include a flute of prosecco at each place setting, in anticipation of our son and his girlfriend's announcement of their engagement. The food at Shima is always fabulous and this year was no exception. Nicole, together with Sam, Mo and Reza made our evening truly special. I appreciate the professionalism and customer focus of each of these 6 employees even though we were not staying at the Sundial Resort.

Very intimate experience — 4 main hibachi tables made it feel like was a private chef in your own home. Amazing chef - LYCEL - who went above and beyond with entertainment for our 2 year old but also excellent food, fresh and authentic. I had the Scallops, other family had steak, tuna — all top notch. My food was made in the best possible way. Amazing scenery at Sundial setting as well. Highly recommend for a family or friends activity, will not be disappointed!!
