Having visited Island Cow pre Ian, and returning 1.5 years later, not much here.
In fact there is no building at all, rumor says they are rebuilding, but no activity is visible.

sad it burnt down but when I went food was amazing and very friendly staff
It is a fun place to go but I was disappointed in the food. I ordered fried oysters and they were hard and fried in a clump. Coleslaw was starting to turn brown. Generous french fries.
Wish I can give zero star, two days ago myself, wife and daughter with our dog, visited the restaurant, after a day at the beach, I asked for a menu to order take out because we were in no proper attire to be seated and especially since we had our pup with us too. I was told after waiting about an hour that they do not do take out. I don’t know why because two years ago we stayed on Sanibel island and due to Covid we were able to do take out. I felt I was profiled because of course I was non white, because the gentleman who gave me the message was a bit hesitant when he said “no take out”.
Forgets critical parts of the dish in the description on the menu. Ask before ordering if any concerns.
Great Waitress and Excellent Food! Thank you very much!! Cool breeze made it even better~♡~
The Island Cow is a great place to eat for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The food is good and reasonably priced for the island. It can be very busy at lunch and dinner, though so plan accordingly.
I eat here every time I come to Sanibel, multiple times actually, and about the only gripe I have is that the portions are huge. Maybe that's good for some but in my opinion it's just too much food at times.
Great service ( thank you Jorge!), excellent and varied menu and very tasty breakfast.
Great atmosphere, great breakfast options, attentive waiter, fast and tasty food. My rating is because after eating breakfast, we went over to the shop to buy merchandise. We went to the bar and waited for the bar tender to finish making a drink before we could check out. Unfortunately While we waited, I watched the bar tender pour a drink in a wine glass, there was a strawberry in the glass. Bar tender dunked two fingers deep in the drink to get the strawberry out, removed and hung the strawberry on the side of the glass, pour more of the drink into the glass, wiped fingers on pants and then took my credit card to process my transaction. Not the most appetizing/sanitary scene to watch. Thank god we had already eaten. Ignorance is bliss.

Great food, great atmosphere!
Not a clean place to eat. Booth dirty no tabletop protection, unsanitary tableware, rude and disinterested waiter, drinks watered down, excessive mandatory tip policy, toilet is a cesspool, food cam to table with fly's. All around disgusting. Apparently Lee County has no health inspectors. Food marginal at best.
Def. a surprise BUT completely awesome breakfast
Wanted to stay for lunch since it was my last day. Too full from breakfast so it's on my bucket list. You should put it yours also!
They gave me a drink that had no alcohol in it and then when I went up to the bartender, she sat there and poured a whole bottle of tito’s in it then disagreed with me that when i mentioned there was no alcohol in it. It was the most disgusting drink I have ever had. Whoever the bartender is needs to be fired. She is the rudest person I have ever encountered. The food is mediocre & I think they’re only in business because there’s only a couple other restaurants on the island. The tap water is also really bad, akin to city water. i’d definitely recommend they get a quality water filtration system.
Great food, service and the portions are huge! Love this place and hope they re-open soon!
