I love(d) this place. I don't know if it survived Hurricane Ian and was not open when I went to Sanibel Island last week. I hope they can re open sometime soon.

Will not return. Very small and divey. The staff was friendly but the place felt like it was falling apart. It's a shame because the location is amazing.

Great experience at the tipsy turtle. Ellie and Michael took really good care of us. Ellie has a fun personality and Michael makes great drinks! Food was great and has a fun atmosphere!

The worst restaurant experience we’ve ever had on Sanibel which would make this the First bad experience and we’ve been coming here every year for 20 years. We were told there was a 25 minute wait which we were a bit confused about because we saw Multiple open tables (see attached pic). After 45 minutes we approached the hostess to ask our status and she wouldn’t even give us a New estimate. All she would say is that they were short servers. We left at exactly the 1 hour mark and there were Still open tables. Needless to say we’ll never be back and we’d advise you to eat elsewhere like The Island Cow or Cheeburger Cheeburger where they are ran Much better.

We were on vacation and happened upon the Tipsy Turtle and are we glad we did… we had the best time at happy hour. The drinks, apps and music were all great. The staff was professional and a lot of fun. Would highly recommend

Disappointed in the experience here.1. Read so many reviews of how great the bartenders were - unfortunately the night I went looks like the bartender was also the manager and spent the whole time in front of the bar working on the schedule for the upcoming weekend and yelling back and forth with staff at the hostess stand about getting other people to work and what inventory they had for the shop2. Menus are not updated on the website. Says $6 apps for happy hour but they wrote in sharpie on the menus that it’s now $83. Website says happy hour til 8 but again written in sharpie until 74. There were weird pieces of light pink on the tuna dishes and hard to pour the spicy Mayo on the nachos & frozen drink just ok, melted quickly.

What a disappointing experience. We arrived on a Sunday night (it was late so we did not expect tons of options)I will start with the good, our waitress was great-she was friendly and fast. That is where the good ends.Drinks: we got a pina colado which was literally just a mix poured into a cup. Also ordered a club soda and a coke. We could not drink these as they tasted and smelled strongly of unfiltered sea water (and yes, I KNOW we are by the sea and sometimes this is expected but this was just TOO much)Food: tacos, salad, burger, bbq platterTacos; my daughter ate one and said she wasn’t going to eat anymore because it tasted “funny”Salad: greens from a bag, which was fine…Burger; my husband took one bite and put it down.. he started to dissect it so he could salvage what he could but he was too turned off by the taste of “refrigerator” he said it tasted like the ingredients were all in a fridge together and had absorbed the taste and smell of everything around it.BBQ: I had high hopes for this, sadly my hopes were quickly shot down.. it was a plate of leftovers, dry, old, refrigerated leftovers that had been drowned in bbq sauce. There is no other description. The fries that came with the platter were good as was the coke slaw.Disappointing to say the least. Don’t waste your time here-there are so many better options on the island.
