This restaurant is ALWAYS on the list to visit whenever we stay on Sanibel Island. The service is always top notch and the table fare from presentation to consumption is exquisite. Especially like the dinner music and dancing.Just to reiterate this restaurant is in our Top 3 on Sanibel Island we'll never pass up an opportunity to dine at Traditions on the Beach.A great piano bar and dance floor if you so desire. And their bartenders at the Bar are always creating a magic elixir of sorts for your enjoyment. Handicap parking and ramp is in service at this location...and the waiters are always ready to serve you every need to enhance your dining experience. Once again we'll always recommend this fine establishment.

Wow! What a delicious meal! We had great service. Paul was our waiter. The spaghetti and chicken dish were spot on delicious! We enjoyed the live evening music. This was so memorable, we will definitely return!

I read a lot of reviews that don't always match when I try the place. This review is honest and this restaurant deserves high praises. I can't say enough about what a great experience we had at this hidden gem. If I could give it 10 stars I would. It was our anniversary dinner on Monday 8/15. We sat at a small table in the bar. I ordered the surf & turf (filet and scallops) and my husband got the peppercorn strip steak. Both came with au gratin potatoes, carrots and broccoli. Everything was cooked to perfection! It was without a doubt, the most delicious meal that we have had in years. Our server was great and he went out of his way to recommend, explain and provide great service.

You can get more food that tastes the same for better prices . The food is not worth the price it’s labeled.

We stay at the Island Inn every year and we love to go to the bar once or twice while we are there. The specialty drinks are always great. The atmosphere is pleasant and relaxed. It's so nice to be able to go out for a drink and not have to drive anywhere.

Really love the food and atmosphere here! Mike our server was excellent and enjoyed live music from Dino who played a varied, enjoyable repertoire. Portions and prices were a great value. Highly recommend!

Our anniversary dinner was wonderful from beginning to end. An appetizer of mozzarella & tomato salad piqued our palates. We enjoyed grilled beef mignon with roquefort fonduta and the grouper special (with a scallop on top!). The sauces made both of these divine. Vegetables were fresh and cooked perfectly. We finished with a gelato trio. Curt, our server, was attentive but not hovering. Maybe the best part of the evening was listening to Danny Sinoff on piano, with his bass playing friend. Mostly jazz, some Sinatra, all easy listening. We'd enjoyed Danny's music years ago at Ellington's and tracked him down via Trip Advisor's Forum. Visit Traditions for that special meal; you won't be disappointed. Traditions might be considered "Old Florida" style; it was outstanding in all ways.

I ate here two times for dinner while staying at the Island Inn, Matthews Lodge - I had duck one night and filet mignon with vegetables the other evening. Both times the waiters were great and very delicious meal! A little pricey for me, but I wanted to treat myself. I believe that this older building is going to be torn down and new building going up next year - in case anyone read the reviews about the carpet!

Stopped at the bar for a quick drink before dinner - rum punch was excellent. Danny our server seated us for dinner. Danny was wonderful, attentive, we felt special. Danny was extremely knowledgeable about both the dinner and drink menus. My husband had veal and I had the filet. Both were exceptional! It was a wonderful meal in a beautiful setting. If you go, please say hello to Danny for us!

This place has a good god family vibe and nostalgic mid 80s restaurant feel. The kids had a lot of fun. However the entrees for the price left much to be desired. Neither salt, pepper could rescue, or exorcist could rescue the taste of this food.If you’re looking for a good environment with beach access, and a place for the youngsters to dance, this may be your place. But, if you are looking for a good - tasting meal, then I recommend looking elsewhere.

First off, get Linda as your server if you can. One of the hardest working and most personable waitresses you'll ever see. The food was excellent all around for our family, from appetizers to entrees to dessert. The portions are generous and the prices quite reasonable even in a resort location. The music duo were cute, folksy, and helped set a casual mood. Our only concern was the host who first tried to seat us in the worst table in the place, by the back door. We had to refuse, to end up being seated in the lighter front area where there were still free tables. I get the sense regulars get favored status here, which is short-sighted since you need to cultivate new regulars to thrive.

The food was good but nothing amazing. It has a dated look and feel and the wine menu is quite dull.

Gruesome. The food had to be microwaved. This included a dry “grilled” grouper special and a shrimp scampi where the shrimp tasted and had the consistency of frozen. The sides were nasty, including mashed potatoes with the grouper that looked like the kind of mashed potatoes you get in a Swanson hungry man dinner. This is a restaurant in a resort, the resort is lovely, the restaurant likely relies on a steady stream of resort guests, to its and their detriment. We did get a very nice bottle of wine. Complete debacle. Avoid at all cost.

My only complaint with this establishment is the smell. We almost had to leave as the musty smell was overwhelming. It’s the dry time of yr abs this shouldn’t be. Food was excellent and service good. We had the duck and it was amazing! They had a piano man who kept us unite entertained. I would give you 5 stars if you find the source of that awful smell- carpet? Thanks!
