It is a crab shack. They do a good job of that. My wife said our server was a doll. Not my palate. Fried offerings. I had Mahi Oscar as main course it was good if a bit salty. Rain was causing building to leak. In 30 A looking for snow crab and fixings. Check!

Not the same since Tom is not there any longer. Had lots of customers who always ask for him.

While out shopping we decided to check out AJ's for a possible dinner spot since we were staying in the area for 10 days. We were just going to have a cocktail, so the Hostess told us we could just go up into the bar area and have a seat, which we did. After about 5-7 minutes, no one had come over to greet us or take our order. One of our group went up to the bar to order and was told by the bartender to "go sit down" I'll send someone over. Another 5 minutes went by, and no servers came, despite 4-5 of them standing in the corner talking with each other. Finally two of us got up, went to the bar to order our drinks. The bartender was more interested in looking at something on another patrons phone, and totally ignored us. We finally got his attention by calling out to him. Needless to say, not impressed and quickly dismissed this as a potential dinner spot.

Fun decor and it's nice that they had live music on Thursday. Not so loud you couldn't have a conversation. The food was just okay for the price. They did give us some. Complimentary shrimp which we appreciated. They were excellent. So much seasoning on my fish that it's all I could taste. I would not recommend the She Crab Soup or Gumbo. The Smoked fish dip was very good. The key lime pie was fine.

Very popular local spot. Usually crowded whenever we've driven by. Parking is diffucult and limited. Had awesome decorations for Mardi Gras and lovely lady was handing out beads. Great live music.Parking: Very small lot.

Their staff needs additional training—particularly the bartender Drew, who was at the middle bar at 4:30 PM on 2.10.24 (beside the sushi bar). Even with an empty restaurant and open seats at the bar, he couldn't be bothered to help the customers sitting with empty drinks and waiting for utensils, but of course, he expected a tip. If it weren't for the sushi guy that sets up there, I would never give this place my money!

Dined with friends at AJ Grayton Beach today and loved the restaurant atmosphere. Old signs hanging on the ceiling and a stage for live music. Service : 5 stars. Our waiter was very present and we never had our drinks go empty. He did a great job and the only thing I would complain about is not getting our social queues that we were trying to catch up with each other and kept asking if we want appetizers when we didn't even look at menu. Food: the food is like most beach restaurants that have the typical fried food shrimp and oysters. After eating fried food the last few days we ordered the special salad of the day. The steak was flavored nicely and cooked to medium I guess. Ooh before our lunch was brought out they brought us shrimp cocktail and hush puppies. We all looked at each other in confusion since no one ordered these. The server said all tables get this and I thought that was a great touch. When we dined here they had live music, so I when the singers were on stage their microphones were a little loud , so made it tough to talk each other. The singers were good though. Will be back for drinks and dinner text time. I can imagine this place being packed during spring break and summer vacation for sure.
