We have eaten here several times. We are food-driven and the homemade food & sauces cannot be faked - no frozen pre-prepared items here and my tastebuds can tell. The service has always been good. It’s not fancy, definitely a local place, and filled with loyal customers.
Weird interaction. We walked to Steamboat to order drinks and food, after ordering the drinks our ID’s were brought back to us and refused (two valid Georgia licenses). We offered other valid forms of ID but those weren’t accepted, we were turned away for our appearance since we “didn’t look our age“ (25 and 27). I have a house near steamboat and have been multiple times over the last few years. I am very disappointed since this had become a regular spot for us. I get that college students and high school students have put y’all through it on spring break, but get better at recognising valid forms of ID, especially ones that are issued by the federal government. Ate here today and both the food and service were outstanding. Food was hot, fresh, delicious and well priced. Our server was attentive without being intrusive. We enjoyed dining outside. Very friendly place. Will definitely return.

First of all they hire illegal criminals .Abusive ones too which is Davion Davis .Secondly , the oysters gross yall better off taking that trip to Panama City going to genes oyster bar. Steam boat bar i so expensive for 1 ⭐️ star food . If fit don’t like abusers avoid this place

It's a fun local restaurant bar. The food came out quick and was tasty. We ordered oysters on the half shelf, oysters Rockefeller, seafood Gumbo and the grouper sandwich. Everything tasted good, we only wished the grouper in the sandwich had been a little bigger or thicker. It was a tiny filet that got lost in the sandwich.

The consistent place to go after a day at the beach. It's less expensive and welcoming and friendly. Get.The.Hushpuppies. We didn't quite think the 2 for 1 deal was a deal so we opted for grilled chicken sandwhich which was good not great. But the cole slaw side was amazing. The hushpuppies and cole slaw are definitely the winners.

So I will say this… I’ve been to steamboat a few times, but decided to leave a review as the experience has remained fairly consistent. Always get great service with smiles from the Wait staff, but still struggling to understand the extremely high prices here. especially when you order something like a grilled fish sandwich, which was considerably smaller in size from another place like North Beach Social where the price might be the same but you get a much bigger portion of food.But I get it, they need to stay in business and prices are going up from their vendors as well, but it’s quite a bit of a shock to see a local beer on draft can be as high as 8 to 9 dollars (!). That was a dealbreaker for me and giving them three stars just for the fact that they’ve got to do something a little more creative on their price points. Take a look at what other local restaurants are doing (not the tourist traps, but real local spots) and modify your price points from there.
