The food is excellent! We had tapas and paella that was absolutely delicious! The paella’s are pretty big portions that can serve two to four people depending what size you order. Adrian our server was very pleasant and took his time answering all of our questions, he made us feel like we were part of the family there. The owner and chef came over to say hello and made us feel special. I highly recommend this restaurant !

The best Spanish food we've ever had, including food we've eaten in Spain itself. Our waiter, Adrian, thoroughly explained the menu to us, and said we were in good hands with the Michelin trained chef/owner Elier. These guys really know what they're doing, as the tapas we had ( Patatas Brava and Cordero) were the best ever. We wanted to order a seafood Paella and Adrian informed us they could do it with squid ink ( Paella Negra)! Black Paella, which most places do not even offer, with seafood and a massive Lobster was an explosion of flavors! This was, by far, the best Paella we ever had, including Paellas in Spain. Can't wait to come back for the super quality, taste, and excellent service.

We heard a friend say a new Spanish restaurant has opened in town. Because they are our favorite we visited with some friends. The food is excellent , the list of wines impressive , the staff very friendly and the atmosphere took me to Madrid.

Great restaurant. Some of the food could be a tad more flavorful, but some dishes were also spot on. 5 stars all around!

Impressions from first visit. Great food, prepared with expertise and attention to detail. Great service by Adrian and his colleagues. Alma de Espana is now at the top of my Sarasota restaurant list.

Disappointing. Overpriced and undervalued.
Croqueta de Seras were beautiful but bland And uninteresting. Paella de Valencia was greasy and sad.
On the plus side, a roast beet dish and a grilled mushroom dish were delicious tapas.
Also, the service was horrible. We sat for 20 minutes next the waiter’s station and no - especially the eventual server — never so much as said hello.

Excellent tapas and attentive service. Interesting Spanish wines by the glass. We especially enjoyed the mushroom croquetas and the chocolate flan. We will be back.

I’m still thinking about this pasta, can’t lie. This is another little hidden gem in Sarasota’s Hillview neighborhood. The owner/chef is from a small city in southern Spain and makes everything— even the pasta noodles— from scratch. The salad was divine and the pasta was loaded with perfectly seasoned chicken. The leftovers held up well too. They’ve only been open two months so probably why it was empty but the food was really good. They had a solid drink and wine menu but I didn’t order from it.
