First time here and pleasantly surprised. Exceptional service and food. We had the Covina fish special of the night and veal parmigiana followed by crème brûlée Don't let the fact that the location, tucked away in a shopping center fool you. We will be back soon!!

We had such a lovely evening at Amore Restaurant. It’s a true gem in Sarasota! The food, the atmosphere, the live piano music - everything was just perfect. We had a 3-course meal: I had a Caesar salad, Bolognese pasta, and Tiramisu - all super delicious!!! My husband had the soup of the day, a cod dish, and Pastel de Nata - as good as the ones we had in Portugal.
Beautiful place, warm service, and authentic flavors of both Italy and Portugal. Highly recommend for a cozy, elegant night out.

My wife and I dined last night and enjoyed it thoroughly. The musician was very pleasant with the piano, and we ordered from both the portuguese and italian menus. We have been here several times but I read reviews that said some of the portuguese dishes were heavy on the salt, so we asked them to go light on the salt. Both dishes were delicious. I had the pork tenderloin with baby clams, which was loaded with clams. My wife had the shrimp and crab linguine, which was also heavy on the seafood and very tasty. I had the chef's salad that was lovely and robust. I would strongly recommend this restaurant.

We have been to Italy several times and to Portugal twice. We ate in many places in those countries and know their cuisines. Amore's Italian and Portuguese food is not good! Service was very good and music by Eddie Tobin was first rate. Without him, the joint dies!

Looking for the best Italian food in Sarasota? Come to Amore. If you are looking for a crowd featuring men with beards, backward baseball caps and tattoos, this is not the place. But uf your are looking for fabulous old Italian, then come to Amore.

Our experience at Amore could not have been better. We had some trepidation because of the strip mall location but everything from the outstanding bottle of wine to the amazing Portuguese egg custards we had for dessert was top rate. The ambiance was cosy and welcoming. The service was friendly, helpful, and not smothering but efficient. Our veal entrees were delicious snd outstandingly tender. Finding an actual Italian restaurant in the area has been difficult up until now. We enjoyed every moment and morsel. We are already anticipating our next visit. This place is truly a gem.

Very disappointing . Chicken and veal milanaise entrees deep fried to cardboard. Another one of our entrees ordered from the Portuguese menu was unedibly salty - we returned it. Too bad ... nice atmosphere & great piano.

I'm so glad Pink visited this family owned restaurant! I saw people posting about it on Facebook so I checked out the reviews and was impressed! I wouldn't have found this place on my own and it's so close to downtown. It was a big deal for me to order the chicken artichoke piccata because I haven't ordered one in years because I hadn't found a restaurant I trusted to get it right. I was so impressed! The burrata roasted red pepper appetizer was delicious. The lemon potato was a surprising touch! The tiramisu was delicious and although it was plated beautifully, it didn't even need any topping. I ate off the Italian menu and I'm looking forward to returning and having something off the Portuguese menu! Fun, unassuming spot to bring family and friends! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I think this place is a little overpriced and over advertised. We came over to check the live music, which we couldn't hear from the table at the back of the room. The food was nice, but over salted to my taste. And we waited for over an hour to get it. It was only one waitress and she was super busy. We had to remind her to pay attention to us.
