Waiter was very accommodating! We ordered Crab Cake and both enjoyed it very much..in fact it was the best Crab Cake ever. Well worth the trip from Port Charlotte. 5* we will return!

I wanted just good old Fish, no sauces that other places use to cover up bad fish. Here I ordered Grouper, J*** seasoning, nothing short of Great. The Cheese Grits very goad and rich.

This is one of the few restaurants in Sarasota it has been around for a reason!!! Don’t miss it out! They have an updated menu and the food is EXCELLENT!!! We had the new Salmon pasta with smoked Gouda cheese sauce and Shrimp Jambalaya... both were AMAZING!!!!Everyone is super friendly, welcoming and we are definitely coming back and try something new! Again!! We LOVE this authentic place in the heart of the beautiful downtown Sarasota!!

The downtown location is great. We come here every few months when in town. Today we had a new waiter. He heard we were “ regulars” . One of our usual waitresses told him what my usual, unique, picky order was!! Loved this! Thanks for another great meal

Food was absolutely amazing like always. But then when. My 900$ phone was stolen off my table, the wait staff had a few stories. At first was told yes the cameras work . When I asked if they could check them I was told that the manager did not have access to them. So I asked for the police to be called. the wait staff tells the police another story that the cameras do not work. Like get your stories straight! What is interesting is their different accounts of what happened. Was not happy camper to be treated poorly there..The waiter didn't even care! And told many different versions! On top of all this is was my birthday dinner that ended at 8:30. I was there until 10 pm. After giving up to return next day, I get a phone call saying it was "found" Great food! Horrible Staff! Will not return to a place that Rob's people!

This place was nearly empty at 12:30 on a Thursday. Service was a bit slower than I expected with only 4 tables to wait. Only one waiter so maybe that is why. I have been craving fried jumbo shrimp on my 3 trips to Florida and this place came recommended. The shrimp was ok but nothing special. I'm going to seek grouper now.

Very disappointing! First off, it's a nice, rustic restaurant. When we arrived and were seated you could see the staff were severely understaffed. It took some time to get our drinks and orders placed. I ordered one of the highest priced items on the menu, which was a platter of many seafood items. One item clearly stated Crab on this medley of many items on this platter. Needless to say, I didn't get Crab meat. I stopped eating and showed our waiter and he said Crab was not part of this platter. So I thought he was correct and finished my meal. My mother was an entire issue of problems throughout her meal. She had a very disappointing dining experience from the very start of her meal. After I finished, I just had to read the menu again as I knew Crab was supposed to be on this platter I ordered. Sure enough, Crab was listed as one of the Seafood items I was supposed to get! Backing up a little, remember our waiter said Crab was not part of the Platter I ordered?! When he came back, I showed him the menu and said he lied to me as Crab was clearly listed. He quickly went to get his manager. The manager stated that Crab was stuffed in the Shrimp! However, every item on the Seafood platter was shown like this: Lobster / Grouper / Scallops / Crab / Shrimp / etc... After complaining to this Manager, he said Crab was never part of the menu but used to stuff regular sized Shrimp! I told him he was false advertising. When we got the check, it was for full price, even after I clearly got screwed out of one critical meat and my mom didn't barely touch her meal because of a number of issues. She asked why there wouldn't be a discount for her meal, my problem of not completely getting what I ordered and a third meal which was ok. The Manager then took a grand total of $4 off the bill. The bad thing is my brother and mom come to Sarasota every year for the past 10 years or so, but will never set foot back in Barnacle Bill's ever again.
