Basil's Flame Broiled Chicken

I have been going to Basil's for years. They were out of spinach pie, I got a large Greek salad it was mostly lettuce with the handful of the other veggies. They used to be so good. So disappointing. I ended up adding my own veggies and basically making my own salad to go with the box of $13 lettuce they gave me. Sorry guys, I won't be back.

I recall this place used to be better. Today the food was ok, but a bit bland. The physical restaurant needs a serious overhaul; most of the drinks on the Pepsi machine were out of order and the booth vinyl was badly torn. It’s as of the owner doesn’t love this once-great restaurant anymore. Either that or he doesn’t care about customer experience.

I'm not sure why others have given a good review. Not impressed. Mashed potatoes were good. Chicken was dry. They gave me white meat instead of dark. I called, they said they would give me a free meal next time but I'm not sure I'll bother.

Ordered a chicken sandwich. Thick, cold and hard chicken. Tried eating it, in my opinion, not good. Other items may be fantastic, i am only rating the chicken sandwich.
The drink machine was out of about three drinks, one of the booths were ripped, a lot. You would think it would have been repaired.
When you see little things like this makes you wonder how clean the kitchen and prep tables are.

If you have never had their chicken or other meals, you are in for a real treat. We have been going there for over 20 years and never get tired of the food, it's awesome plus they have so many other items on the menu, you're bound to find something you like.

They need to bring Jose back. Mans been here the whole time I’ve been coming for 25 years. No offense to the rest of the staff but everything is better when Jose makes it.

Very disappointed not what it once was. Food was not good hope I don't get sick from it. Guy behind the counter preparing the food looks filthy with long gross fingernails touching food without gloves. This place needs a deep cleaning and a hygiene code for employees to follow.

We love basil's food. It is very delicious n. Quality. We order there usually on a weekly basis. And we have been noticing that. The quantity of food has been going down when you order a chicken dinner to go and it has the 2 sides for the side items, they are only half full. You are paying good money and you're not even getting a full tablespoon of your mashed potatoes or your Mac and cheese or your baked beans. If somebody is ordering a dinner, especially a working man, you fill that little cubby hole to the top. Several times I order through DoorDash and the company itself. Basils doesn't have the order. Put together correctly. And therefore I only receive a partial order. Then I call DoorDash and they're kind enough to refund me for the items and then I call the store who they did accept responsibility and stated they forgot the items. However, their answer to the the problem was oh, well, at least you're getting your money back. Normally that's acceptable today. It was not acceptable as I had oral surgery and I have a mouthful of stitches. Where I can only eat soft foods. And the food that was missing was the soup and the mashed potatoes. So out of all 5 orders for the family, everybody else got their food and I didn't, and it's honestly not fair to DoorDash. They're refunding me the money, but basil's employees themselves. Honestly Forgot My food and didn't want to correct the problem in any way. I find this very bothersome, especially when we order from there every week. And we spend at least 75 to a $100. You don't treat your regular customers like that. Especially when the snowbirds go home and we keep your business alive. All year round, very disappointed. The quality in service and food is going downhill. Customer service, there is none. Very disappointed, absolutely no compensation whatsoever for their mistake. Other than oh well, you got your money back. I will not be ordering here again. And it's a shame that because I really enjoy their food

Worst Gyro in Sarasota? The meat seems to be raw and came out of a little plastic bag. The people preparing/ handling, the food were not wearing gloves. Once I took the sandwiches home they were not edible threw them in the garbage where they belong will not be going back to Basil’s flame broiled chicken at the corner of Ridge and McIntosh Road in Sarasota.

This place is not what it just to be I always say they have the best Greek salad in Sarasota but the last 2 times I got one is been worse for small salad is 9 dollars which if it was good I would paid more this is the last time I would buy a salad from them
