All I can say for the food - YUK.... As for Bob, this guy is a loud mouth & aggravating - seems to like his own voice and is full of himself,,, not worth the time or $$$...
First time there. Definitely will come back. Our group had the BLT, the tuna melt and the Brie sandwiches. The homemade potato chips were yummy. We didn’t get the potato salad, but will try it next time. We all were very pleased with the food. Getting there is a challenge. But worth it. Now that we know where it is, we will be back.

The restaurant is permanently closed.
My fellow Veteran Bob, has a lot of great story's, and some good food. Make sure you k out all the memorabilia in the rest of the train.

Bobs train is an iconic place. You are having lunch in one of the Ringling cars. That by itself is worth a trip. It's a two person operation so if it is busy you will wait some time for your food. We are glad we came and we enjoyed the experience.

This place is a Diner-esc intimate little spot where Bob personally cooks your omlet to order, with an eclectic circus memorabilia collection (mostly photos) that occupies an entire train car. We loved it very quaint and different. Be aware of the the parking area as there are some hazards that should be repaired or covered so just keep an eye out. 🙂 Overall a good experience that we will do again.

After waiting for what felt like an eternity, our food finally arrived …burnt, cold, and soggy. My friend had to have his whole plate reheated in the microwave and half of mine was completely inedible. How one can manage to butcher something as easy to make as cheese on toast is beyond me. The server was also incredibly annoying and unprofessional. For a family business, nothing about this sorry excuse for a restaurant felt warm or charming in the slightest. Can someone retire this train already?
Enjoyed Bob's great Moose burger with my wife on the Ringling Train on Sunday. Heard many wonderful Circus stories from Bob while he prepared breakfast Brunch. Train address is hard to find (use GPS) but worth it, to be able to dine in antique train cars surrounded with collection of Ringling Circus stuff. Sarasota Hidden Treasure.

A very strange little place, full of militaria and circus content, and a museum.
Food portions and reasonable and price is pretty cheap for the area but if your going it's for the atmosphere.

My wife and I had lunch on Bob's Train during our recent visit to the Sarasota area. The train cars are located in a large vacant parking lot so it can be a little bit tricky to find however, if you follow your GPS directions and keep an eye out, you should be able to see the train cars from the street. There is plenty of free, off-street parking in the abandoned parking lot where the restaurant sits and while it may not look like much from outside, there is a menagerie of circus, Sarasota, and military memorabilia on display throughout many of the train cars. Our server was very friendly and attentive, the food was very good overall. (The menu is very basic so don't expect an extensive offering. You can check out the menu online in advance.) My wife had the toasted brie and berry sandwich, which she said was excellent. I recommend allowing a good amount of time for your visit as there are thousands of interesting photographs and exhibits to peruse before and after your meal. If Bob is around, he will also provide detailed answers to any of your questions as he appears to have an exhaustive knowledge of circus and Sarasota history. I would recommend this place for a unique experience that you won't find anywhere else.

This was our first time eating there. It was a step back in time. The old diner train car was filled with memories from years ago. It had a limited menu. I had the mushroom bacon burger, my wife had the ham reuben. Looking around others were getting the brunch omelet. The food was good. Will definitely go back for brunch.

Bob has a plethora of knowledge and many degrees and accomplishments. He loves to share his memories and knowledge. The trains are old but hold so many memories and memorabilia.
The food was pretty bad. I had Brie with berry jam grilled cheese.
