The service was prompt and friendly. The atmosphere and decor was lively. But the meal was a total disappointment. I had the half rack of ribs and the boss had the bacon ends taco. The side dishes of Mac and cheese and baked beans were good. The ribs were the toughest ribs I have ever eaten. It was tough and dry. Fortunately the BBQ sauce on the table was good. But the ribs were a complete disappointment for me. The bacon burnt ends were also tough, chewy and dry. As the boss said to me, we'll never come back to eat here for BBQ.

The inside of the place was very cool looking. It has a country rustic vibe going for it. That's It! The food was so bad and a little cold. It was 3 adults and 1 child dining. The food had no seasoning at all.*The brisket was flavorless. Not even the crispy outside bits had flavor. No salt, garlic, and or pepper.*The mac & cheese would've been better out of a Velveeta box. No salt, no black pepper, and no garlic. Flavorless*The sausage was cheese and jalapeño stuffed. Again no real flavor. just tasted like smoke. The cheese tasted like powdered nacho cheese and the jalapeno was non-existent.*Pulled chicken and pork both were also flavorless and cold*The cornbread was so dry.We actually enjoyed the baked beans and collard greens.Kid-friendliness: Our kid loved the live music and her coloring/ puzzle sheet they gave her.

Overall good experience. I was worried at first however. Came in on a Saturday morning with the farmers market going outside. Sat at the bar to not take up a table with only 1 person. There were about 10 seats available at the bar. Bartender was weeded with 3 parties totaling 8 people though. Took about 10-15 minutes to even get acknowledged. He offered me a menu, told him I was ready to order and had just looked it up on my phone. He proceeded to turn around and take care of someone else. Finally he came back to me, took my order and it came out quickly. But while waiting I began noticing the amount of flies and fruit flies in the area that seemed to just congregate around the bar. I didn't notice the problem elsewhere. They had the mini spinning fans on the bar to try and keep them away but to no avail. I think if the bar gets a thorough deep clean the flies would disappear. Once the food arrived, the pulled pork under eggs and potatoes were good. Some of the best barbecue I'd had. Didn't require any sauce. I'm overall had higher hopes. I think if the bartender wasn't so weeded at the beginning with only a few orders and the flies weren't an issue it would be a 5 star perfect visit.

My only complaint about Bricks is their water. It smells and tastes like sewer water. Please get a filtration system. Aside from the water the food is amazing

Ate here while on Summer Vacation and I have to say, it's one of the best bbq places I've been to. The Mac N Cheese was definitely the best I've ever had! It highly recommended!

I really like this place, but we were late for the happy hour drink special tonight (Mon-Fri 2 - 7 p.m. only), which was disappointing. The $6 house margarita was great the last time. The brisket is good, but my serving had an entire piece of fat in it. I mentioned it to the server who promptly replaced it. My nephew had the brisket tacos that are spicey, but good. They also have good pulled pork and fries. My niece liked her wings. I'm disappointed with the cornbread product. They need to revisit the recipe, take out the jalapenos and try something more like Marie Callendar's sweeter recipe. I would also skip the burnt ends, since they are really burnt. I liked the fries and the roasted Brussels. Give them a try when you are in downtown Sarasota.
