Brio Italian Grille

Our food and service was very good. It was quiet and not very crowded. Our server was very accommodating and checked on us often.

We have been to the UTC Brio on many occasions. It has usually been good to great, but this time it was poor to average. We went on MLK day and the first thing we noticed is that there were a lot of people milling around waiting for tables (having been quoted 45 minutes to be seated). We had a reservation and had arrived 15 minutes early, so we were seated (as requested) in a booth at the time we had requested. The hostess, despite being very busy, handled the line very well and with good humour (she could have been forgiven for being a little sharp with customers, as there were a few who were not very pleasant when speaking with her). We ordered two drinks - a cocktail and an iced tea, with accompanying water. After ten minutes, bread was delivered, followed by the waiter who apologised that “they couldn't make the requested cocktail”. We ordered a small bottle of Prosecco instead. This arrived shortly afterwards, but without the requested water. When the food arrived, my dish was correct, but the waiter had picked up the incorrect plate, so we had my pet hate in a restaurant - start to eat on my own, or wait for my wife's dish to arrive and let my food get cold!!! Because the waiter had explained he had simply picked up the incorrect plate, we assumed that my wife's food would arrive immediately, however it was (as feared) nearly ten minutes before her meal arrived. We had always felt that Brio offered good value (compared to other similar restaurant brands), however at nearly $30 each for a simple pasta dish, our visits to Brio will now be rare, as other local restaurants offer similar offerings but with prices (and services) that are far superior.

Busy night and obviously shorthanded. At first we sat on the patio. We sat there for approximately 10 minutes and never saw a server even for water. I went inside, we were seated and things went better. The food was delicious. The wedge salad has gotten smaller.

Brio food's flavors are very basic. I couldn't taste the lobster in the bisque, only a pepper tomato flavor. The wedge was better than average. The carbonara lacked the creaminess a good one includes. The shrimp spaghetti sauce lacked the rich tomato flavor. Our server Angel, did a nice job but was held up with the drink orders because of the business of the bar staff. The overall restaurant was extremely cold apparently due to the UTC Mall control. Not pleasant when eating with your coat on when the temperature in the restaurant was 68 degrees. For those who like basic Italian food this is the place. For those who experienced good Italian food having lived in Italy, very disappointing.

$60 filet, wife ordered MR. Try #1: Hit the table raw, sent it back. Try #2 Returned with more fire, but inedible with more salt than meat. We think the kitchen got back at us in retribution. Manager Steve properly took it off the check, a nice gesture, but we left hungry. Disappointing would be a mild adjective for this visit.

Parrish was a wonderful server for our mother's birthday celebration! The food was terrific -- she loved her lobster bisque and wedge salad, and the birthday surprise at the end of the meal was so sweet. Thank you!

I think the ambiance is great and the service was pretty good. The food is not great for the price. I got a flatbread with pepperoni and sausage. The presentation wasn’t great and it was dry and not hot. I don’t recommend that. My friends ordered pasta and the steak salad and that all
