Today I had a horrible experience at Cafe Epicure & decided to just take my money across the street to Clasico Italian Chophouse.
End of the story no need to make the waitress suffer.
Working in the industry and also dinning in local makes me realize that a lot of the times the issue its not the kitchen or the servers. Its management.

If you’re looking for some authentic Italian food then this is for you! Owners are Italian, they are very friendly and knowledgeable of what they’re serving. Everything was delicious and fresh, Service was outstanding and they have outdoor seating as well, I always come here once a month!!

The service was good—friendly and attentive staff throughout the experience. I tried the fish branzino and veal scaloppini, which were both just okay. While they were prepared well, the flavor didn't quite stand out for me. The other food options I saw on the menu and in pictures looked much more appealing, so I’ll definitely be returning to try something different next time! Pricewisw count $70 per person for a main course and a coktail with tips and taxes.
Parking: Make you pay, and they check a lot. I saw the parking enforcement gulf cart maybe 10 times patrolling in two hours.

Was not greeted when we came in, no host or hostess. Waitress was cold and curt in her approach to the table, like she didn't want to be there. Appetizer had to be sent back , not good at all. Lentil soup was not good. Chicken Milanese was not very good either. The white bread was good, and so was the water. Don't think we will be back.

On a whim, we picked cafe epicure for a luncheon. We started with a selection of salumeria meats and cheese. We were not disappointed, the buratta was mouth watering and tasteful. We went for speck and mortadella for the meats. Perfect trio. The bread consisted of whole wheat olive and slices of Italian. This came with a compote of Kalamata olives. I enjoyed this too. For entrees my wife had chicken parm and I had salmon with a sautéed spinach accompanied with a pesto sauce on the plate. The salmon was cooked to perfection, not dry We split a key lime crem brûlée dessert and enjoyed a cappuccino presented at the proper temperature. Frothed so the cream sticks to the spoon. I’m from Staten Island NY and I’m particular and critical to Italian food outside my home turf.
Cafe epicure surpassed my pessimism. I will enjoy dining there again and again

Very authentic Italian. Reminds me of grabbing a pizza at an outdoor café in Italy. Very Italian, they have grappa, espresso and all the necessities other Italian restaurants sometimes forget. Also they accommodated us so well during the superbowl. We got the VIP treatment. Mille grazie amici, non vedo l'ora di tornare!

This place was excellent. Last minute decision to eat in Sarasota on our way back to St. Petersburg. Walked in without a reservation and had a table outside. Cocktails were wonderful and food was delicious. Surprised to only see 4.2 on google. Don’t see why. We will go back again from St
