The service and food was delicious! We came here for a bachelorette weekend, made an easy reservation on open table. We were seated immediately, ordered cocktails and calamari to start! The bread and oil that is complimentary is delicious. We ordered the salmon entrees, lobster linguini, and the clam linguini dish! They even threw in a special tiramisu for our bride and it was to die for!! The environment is cozy too! Our waiter was from Hungary and very attentive! One of the only restaurants on the island that takes reservations, something to think about if you have a big party!

I am shocked at the 4 star rating here?? Got the chicken parm thinking how bad could it be (one of the easiest Italian dishes) and it was not good at all…marinara sauce tasted like tomato paste and cutlet was blah. Homemade pasta may have been ok but smothered in that paste it wasn’t edible. I got the minestrone soup which was basically water with potatoes and vegetables ($18) and it was so bland, no flavor. My husband got the veal scallopine and said it was the worse he has ever had! They breaded the scallopine which we have never seen done in that dish? We haven’t had that bad of a meal in a long time. Being from New England I guess we are fortunate to have really good Italian food but I just don’t understand how this place is rated 4 stars. You are better off going down the street and getting a pizza, seriously, waste of money. I wanted to tell the server how bad it was but my husband said forget about it, we are on vacation and it isn’t her fault. I agree it’s not her fault but food was so bad I thought someone should know to tell the cook….but isn’t he tasting the food, lol. The caption of ‘bringing Italy to siesta key’ is far from reality. This is more on par with chef Boyardee!

This is my favorite birthday/anniversary place! The food is always fabulous! I love their bolognese sauce so had the Ossobuco Ravioli- delicious. My friend had eggplant parmigiana which was also wonderful. My husband had the red snapper special and my friend’s wife had the veal special- both were perfect. We all had a delicious red wine -montepulciano. We shared that we were celebrating my birthday and our anniversary. They brought a beautiful tray decorated with icing and full of samples from their dessert menu. The staff are always friendly and attentive. Highly recommend Cafe Gabbiano for any occasion!

We were a party of six without a reservation, they made a special accommodation for us in a back private room. Service, food and wine were exceptional. Rico was the best waiter. Highly recommended.

We have been dining at this restaurant for almost 10 years. Food always consistent as well as service. This recent visit was a shocker in pricing. First our server advises us that the first basket of bread is on the house, but after that, we would be charged $3 for each additional basket of bread. We always paid our wine corkage fee of $20. When bill came the fee was a whopping $30. Server never told us that the corkage had gone up. Bill for 2 , one appy, one corkage fee, 1 martini and 2 entrees = $157 before tip. Buyer be aware, good food but nickle and dime you pricing. Very disappointed in management's direction of this very good eatery.

Always excellent food - great ambience. Normally attentive and unrushed service. Visit during Spring Break did not meet those qualities. Food service was rushed and we left with disappointment in what is normally a very pleasant dining experience.

We started with delicious mussels followed by the pear and arugula and Caesar salad. So delicious! Dinner was the grouper special and veal piccata. Everything exceeded expectations, tasty, large portions and we will be back!

Cafe Gabbianos is my go to place for my Birthday each year. We are never disappointed. Food is beyond excellent, service is 5 star and the atmosphere is designed to take you away to someplace luxurious. Eating in the wine cellar makes you feel as if you've gotten a personal invitation. Keep it up. We will be back.
