A truly great Italian restaurant here in Sarasota. All the food and the service were excellent. Do not miss the desserts-they are special! We very much look forward to going back to Dolce Italia!
We were 13 friends traveling from Palm Beach for a few days. One friend was celebrating a birthday and asked if we could go to an Italian restaurant. Not knowing the area, I did my research and chose Dolce Italia. It was fabulous! It is quite difficult to go to a restaurant with 13 people, but we got two tables and every meal came out perfect. The food was wonderful, the service was wonderful and all of us said we wished we had this restaurant on the East Coast of Florida. If you get a chance to visit, don’t let this Restaurant slip by. I can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed this restaurant. If you like pasta, you will be in heaven. This was definitely a treat!
Our group of 13 had a fantastic dinner at this wonderful restaurant. The sevice was friendly and professional. The food was all served hot, which can be a challenge with a large group. They do d just an outstanding job for us. I had the Angel Hair with shrimp and pancetta and my wife had the Red Snapper Puttanesca. Both were so delicious. If we didn’t live 3.5 hours away, we would eat here regularly.
Stopped in for dinner with another couple. The fettuccini with pasta and sausage was very good, as was the gnocchi with sausage. The seafood pasta (de !are) was also very good. Their house red wine has a fruity note, and paired well with our dinners. Service was handled well and seamlessly by two different people (per plan). Reservations highly recommended, as their space is small, and in high demand.
Wonderful little family run Italian restaurant, all the dishes we tried were excellent and prices reasonable - we will be back!
Matthew and the staff at Dolce Italia make customers feel welcome and at home. The food is outstanding with daily specials offered. They also accommodate requests to modify or add to the flavor of their delicious food choices. It's always a pleasure to dine here.
Food was delicious & we loved our waitress Tiffany. ♥️
If you want to have an outstanding & authentic Italian meal & feel like you're at Nonna's house, run to Dolce! Had the Fettuccine Alfredo for the 1st time. Buttery, creamy, delicious!
Matt and his team were exceptional on my wife Birthday dinner. Giving us a warm welcome with great tasting food. Service and food from the heart! Will be attending again shortly.

Excellent. We were greeted by Matthew who found a table for us even though we walked in at 5:45 pm without a reservation. Very kind and accommodating. Authentic Italian seasonings, bread. The lasagna was excellent. The Sangiovese wine was great. We will make a reservation next time.

The menu is delicious but we always order something new from the “specials” board. Best Italian Restaurant we've been to in Sarasota
Great restaurants start with great owners. From the moment I called the restaurant to find out if they serve alcohol (beer and Wine), you can feel and hear the passion from the owner Matt. This small boutique restaurant is a fantastic choice for all pasta lovers. We started our meal for 4 sharing a cold antipasto with burrata, roasted red peppers, prosciutto, tomato and arugula. All super fresh and high quality. We paired that with their eggplant appetizer. I would describe it as sorta if a deconstructed Eggplant Parm. That was different but equally fresh and tasted wonderful. All four of had pasta . Two of us had their Trenne Pasta with homemade sausage. One had the homemade Parpadeele special with a meat Ragu and last a gnocchi that Matt was glad to customize with Spinach and mushrooms. Everything was prepared to perfection. Definitely will be back and thank you Matt for your hospitality!!!
