A restaurant that has great food, is casual, and has a staff that makes you feel welcome, is a perfect find. Grandpa’s Schnitzel is on my “always” list for just that reason. Any time I’m in town, I always go there. Normally, several times. The father/son duo make some amazing schnitzel and other delicious side dishes. They normally also have some additional tempting German specialties as well. The 6-item Sides Sampler, is perfect for our vegetarian daughter. The apple strudel may be very tempting, but the Zwetschgenkuchen (plum cake) is amazing. All to be enjoyed with a tasty German beer. There are several German restaurants in Sarasota, but only this one qualifies for my “always” list. Say hello to Alex while you’re there.

We loved this restaurant! I had the German style schnitzel and spaetzle and it was delicious. It took me back to a recent trip to Germany, so authentic! I also had a delicious Konig German beer that was expertly poured with a creamy head. Our waiter, Alex, couldn't have been more helpful with menu choices and service and also told us about his family business, which is very interesting. We definitely will be back!
