G’s Southern kitchen is the best soul food I have ever tasted besides my auntie homemade cooking I am sad that the restaurant closed down but even on the food truck they are still the best I would definitely recommend trying their food this place is five star all the way around from the drinks the customers Service and the food absolutely love it

The food was amazing &* the owner was very professional no the person taking the orders wasn’t at all!! I waited almost 2 hours for my food, i walk up he gives me the wrong order i tell him it wasn’t mine i show him my receipt then he goes to tell me i picked up from the ground because it’s not my order? so i go to show him it was clearly charged to my card &* that it was indeed my receipt! But the fact that he accused me of having picking the receipt off the ground like this was crazy all because he gave somebody else my order! Please check you’re orders &* keep you’re receipts.!!!

Food truck was by Calusa Brewery. It was our first time, we went up to the truck and asked the person a question on one of the chicken wings and he wouldn’t answer. He kept repeating scan the barcode. He was so unfriendly we didn’t order any food and went elsewhere to eat. His loss.

G’s wings are by far the BEST in Sarasota! They’re meaty, always fresh and his sauces/rubs are delicious. I normally order here once/week and I’ve been missing it so much since it’s being remodeled that I ordered catering from them. It’s just as good as ever. Going to have a small gathering of vaccinated friends soon solely so that I have an excuse to order a ton of wings!

Dined in for lunch, there’s plenty of seating in the huge room with large windows overlooking the old golf course that is now turned into Nature Trails. I ordered the 6pc Kitchen Wings (tossed in spicy garlic butter) w/Mac n Gheez, it was outstanding! Their wings are giant, super crispy and perfectly tossed in sauce. I definitely recommend this spot if you have not tried the food yet. Soul comfort food with awesome good wings!!

The only reason this restaurant has excellent reviews is that it’s the only soul food restaurant in the Sarasota area. The wait time was an hour. Ok, I can wait for FRESH food (so I thought). I ordered a typical meal (nothing extravagant) baked mac & cheese, fried fish, and collard greens. The mac & cheese was NOT homemade- it was BOXED VELVETTA- GROSS ?! The fish and collard greens were overly salty to the point of dehydration. I must be spoiled coming from up North, where I had access to Sylvia’s restaurant and an abundance of other soul food restaurants in Harlem, NY. I guess I’ll be traveling back home if I want to eat a decent SOUL FOOD meal.
