I have nothing but nice things to say about this place. The brothers who own the restaurant (Robert and Andy) have been incredibly friendly to me. Robert, the one behind the counter, made me a delicious chili cheese dog, another with sauerkraut, and a burger. I devoured them all in roughly 5 minutes.
Please come here and support this local business where the food is prepared with love, and the service and ambience make you feel like you're dining with your own family.

One and done! Dingy atmosphere, unclean smell, food was very bland, NO BATHROOMS (health code violation?) Charged us $34 for 4 chili dogs, 1 order of fries, 3 cans of Coke. Has all the appeal of a place ready to shut down at any moment. Avoid Avoid Avoid!

I normally don't post anything bad but this was just like how are you still open type thing. I went in for the first and last time. The dinning area smelled like mold and was just dirty. I ordered and then owner told me it was slow so he has a limited menu so I ordered my food. Let's just say I'm never going back his chili dog which he says is known for I didnt even eat. The burger was just as bad . The fries were so oily that it seeped through the wax paper and into and through 7 napkins. Eat at your own risk. This place would be so much better if he took pride in what he sold and had higher quality product. Its way overpriced also $22 for chili dog burger coke and fries. Won't go back

Tried and true local classic! I stopped by after seeing Hot Diggity Dog was open and it's still just as good as I remember years ago when I would stop by after high school. Quick, friendly personal service, extra parking and plenty of seating. Try a Coney Dog!

Disgusting and Unsafe — Stay Away
Hot Diggity Dog in Sarasota was a nightmare. The place reeked of mold, and when I asked for a bathroom, I was told there isn’t a working one. When I asked for water, the owner said, “All I have is tap water,” and poured it from a gallon jug.
The hot dogs were cheap, grocery-store quality, and the fries were bland, generic frozen ones. Despite the low quality, the food wasn’t even cheap. This place is unsanitary and should be looked at by the health department. Do yourself a favor and stay far away.

This place was a Sarasota icon. Now, the food is subpar . I will never return. And I have been in Sarasota for 20 plus years.

Went here as a kid growing up in Sarasota to get a hot dog when we went to the beach. I go every time I come back now. My children have eaten there and my grandchildren have eaten there. I judge every Coney dog by their’s (including Coney Island) and it’s still the best!

My husband & I stopped for lunch.The only thing they have are burgers / hot dogs & Blt .The menus on line are old .The service was ok. The prices are a little much . The place is old & dated smells musty .The bathrooms are something to be desired .Needs a very good cleaning .Will not eat there again .Sorry diggity dog
